Well, given Oleg and Peter looked like they were fighting in treacle (not just water), I'd say a few.

And is this Vitali's first fight back? What about McCline? I thought that was the first fight of his comeback?

    Or Rahman 2? 3? 4?

I would say Lennox Lewis could walk off the street now and beat Sam Peter.
Bloody Larry Holmes probably fances his chances too, to be honest.

    Zero considering the circumstances.

The guy really ought to know that it's not nice to fool around with timelines and deadlines. He really has no respect for the fans or the business end of the sport when he does this. Chances are he's going to postpone the Peter fight too. Whether or not he is training or hurting himself is irrelevant. Fact is this isn't just a one and done thing. He's done this 5 consecutive times in a matter of 3 years.

The only way I give him respect is if he manages to climb into the ring against Sam Peter. Otherwise all bets are off. He'll have costed camp Peter another 6 months of training and debts.

Yep, good post. VITLAY displayed all the sportsmanship you'd expect from a failed mayor.

But WALD fans need never fear, if WALD gets KO'd by a bum, VITLAY will clear it up and cleanse the Klitschko name for the future generations :nut

I wonder what VITLAY will do when WALD gets KO'd by Haye....that's going to be one training camp too many I feel.

Actually Jose Soliman(spell check), said that Vitali broke the WBC record for most cancellations without actually fighting, he postponed the Rahman fight 4times in a span of 1 year.

  5. Vitaly can't even make it through a training camp without getting injured:-( no way in hell he could make it thru a 12 round fight with Peter! especially since he's been out of the ring since 04:lol:

I presume they knew all about his health prior to the 4 or 5 Rahman fights, and the McCline fight also?

They are only sanctioning the fight. Not promoting it or paying the fighters.

If I was Peter, I would insist on a payout clause if Vitali postpones/cancels. That's the only sure way that he can pay his trainer, manager, sparring partners etc if Vitali backs out for the sixth or seventh time in a row.

On the site that talks boxing, there is an article with duva where he says they are making it so that in the event of vitali pulling out, peter and co will get something out of it and dont' waste their time.

Vitali is (or was) better than Wlad. If he had no retired due to injury he would be in Lennox Lewis' place, and be recognized as the "Heavyweight Champion of the world." Just because your mad the man can't seem to get back in to it....That's no reason to descredibt him, his wins, his ability, etc.
Fact is...If it's the same Vitali that fought before (even close to it) Peters doesn't stand a chance IMO. If it was the same Vitali before...I don't think Wlad wouldn't stand a chance either (though they refuse to fight eachother).

:good I feel the same way, they both came at a time when the division was as weak as could be, so it made good fighters like Wlad and Vitali look great, but they would lose to most, if not all of the ATG fighters that came before them, though Vitali is the better brother, and would of game some ATG's a run for there money, Wlad on the other hand would of have his chin more exposed than Paris Hiltons ***** at a red carpet event.:yep

When Vitali stepped aside to let Maskaev defend against Peter, it was understood that if he got healthy again, he would be first in line to meet the winner, as he retired due to injury.

He has not lost his title in the ring.

If he's so shot, it should be an easy night for Peter and a good addition to Peter's fairly weak resume. Sam should be jumping at the chance.

If he's shot, this will retire him out of your hair for keeps.

If he's not shot, he KO's Peter, early.

I know the "real" reason they hate the Klitschkos! Want to guess?

Whatever, Vitali had injuries, he retired from the WBC title to allow the WBC Title not to be tied up. WBC made Vitali the Emeritus Champion, this is the WBC rules. Vitali had the right to fight Oleg, but Don King kept putting roadblocks up, so Vitali finally decided to fight the winner of that fight. Vitali was not only promised the fight, he is legally entitled to that fight and can force it in court. Don King will do anything to get Peter out of that fight. Don King does not want Vlad to fight Peter either.
