I hope he comes back! HW division is dead since he retired! Will he still be Ring magazine's champion? As he never LOST in the ring!??
yes, the johnson comparison is good. that night he was on a mission. interestingly johnson almost killed maskaev with a left hook.
Vitlay should just stay retired. He's dropped out of enough fights, and ****ed around with the WBC for long enough now. If he wants to fight again, it should be a) a non title fight b) under the conditions the opponent gets paid regardless of whether or not Vitlay makes the fight. Anything else is just ****ing around with other peoples careers and livelihoods. I'd like to see a fit Vitlay back too. I'd also like to see a young Lewis, tyson and Bowe back too. I just can't see any of them happening.
He tore his knee ligaments, and then had a herniated disc, and because of those two injuries, you just can't see a fit Vitali anymore? :blood As much as you'd like to, you just can't see it, huh? Oh, OK. Whatever.
Vitali will knock out glass-jawed Oleg if they fight. Peter I'm not too sure about - that one, like his fight with Wlad, could end up going the distance. Don't forget that Peter is young and hungry, and Vitali has been out of the ring several years. His best bet would be to starch Oleg and then go for Peter.
The KING???? What, you mean the almighty conquerer of.... Danny Wiliams and a 38 year old pro golfer? atsch
I've lost count, but it has to be close to half a dozen fights that he's pulled out of in the last 3 years. In that time he has fought only once. In fact if you go back a further year he only has only fought twice in almost four years against two challengers that are journeymen at best. And somehow he's "the king" all of a sudden??
You were refering to his inability to be fit, meaning being due to too many injuries. Over the last few years in question, he has had two injuries that were corrected by surgery. Two. And yet you just can't see a fit Vitali, anymore. Ok, ..........gotcha. :blood
Yes, given his dominance in the ring, his KO percentage, his impressive stat of never having been behind on the cards, having never been taken of his feet, and being impressive, even in his two losses (where he was outboxing Byrd, and leading Lewis on points, I might add). Yes, return of the KING. You read that right. Yes. :good
Yes I was. I was referring to the fact that Vitaly last had a fight in December 2004. Almost THREE years ago. Since then, he has pulled out of 4 or 5 fights with Rahman, and another fight with McCline. Are you trying to tell me that a fighter that hasn't been able to get through a training camp for THREE YEARS is a fully fit fighter??? By the time another fight is set up, you're talking 6 months away at least. Sorry, but a fighter that hasn't been able to get a fight due to injury (1, 2 or 50) for 3 and a half years, is hardly a picture of health is he?
