That's the thing, there might be a little less bitching about it because it would be more competitive. I don't think it's a bad division in the sense that there isn't talent. But there simply are no big fights happening. The better guys are protecting themselves by fighting the least other contenders possible before their title shot-which is sometimes none. Then when they get a title shot they don't have the experience to rely on and it's a shutout by the experienced and in shape pros, the Klitschkos. Of the three titlists, there's complete reluctance on on or more parties for a fight and to settle terms. The talent is there, the great competitive fights are not. It's like having all of the ingredients for stew and no stove to cook it. Why can't we get Solis and Povetkin laying their 0's on the line? Why can't we get Tua in against a live name if he's so serious about a shot in the twilight of his career? There could be some great match-ups between good fighters. The fighters just don't want it. That's what makes it a bad division.

Edit: Chambers is really the first contender in a while who hasn't had a title, is young and has gone up against several names to get where he is. I respect that. He earned his shot.

As it says in the news article, Vitali is likely to become mayor of Kiev. Looks like he would rather pursue politics than fight into his forties. He will leave it to his brother to try to unify the titles.

Good points dude. Tua could get titles after the Klits retire or at least one:think. Like Ra the Rugged Man said to Floyd, "the sport lives on without you"

He hasn't fought Wlad yet though. It's a shame noone could ever convince them how good it would be for the sport. It would definetly have made them both more popular in North America.

True but lets face facts, you're in the ring with your brother and BAM catch him sweetly, he goes down. He gets back up but is clearly not there, could you finish the job?

I couldn't. It would be a glorified sparring session.

It's good he's getting out of the game at the right time,
    just like Lewis....

    (Sorry, couldn't help myself)

I hate MMA. We all know Vitali doesn't compare to those two.

Wlad is effective but I don't think he'd stand a chance against his brother.

Too bad. I think he is a great fighter, but he has not done what he has to do yet to win over a majority. There are still some good names out there- Haye, Valuev, Tua. If he could get them in the ring, he would od his legacy a lot of good.

Wel, he's great in my book.

Great points. Guys like Arreola get shots too soon and also show up in poor shape and readiness and get dominated and picked apart. It happens in all sports too when the best plays a weak team and beats them in every aspect it becomes unwatchable. Many heavies come up with 0's with no substance to go along and they get dominated. Guys like Chambers climb the ladder lose and bounce back get in better shape and make stylistic improvements.

    Good move for Vitali.

He should try to be a real force in politics.

And than Wlad can fight for Unification!
