Vitali always was interested in politics. He was candidate for mayor once I think

Good, and good for him. Perhaps we can now work toward having one unified champion.

Hopefully he can squeeze in Valuev and Haye before he goes ( I know Valuev stands no chance but he's the only other really big name )

hes had a crackin career , Its hard to definetley say all time great because hes topped a fairy weak division but being the best while he was around is nothing to be sniffed at.

Hopefully he gets to take on 2 more guys before the end of the year! I will miss this guy, it only leaves one real force in the HW division. Maybe Wlad can indeed re-unify the division before he quits too.

That is tabloid level press. While Vitali wants to be mayor of Kiev, I do not think he is going to retire after 2010.

I think you make a good point. Right now the Klitschko's are too good, and their title opponents are not good enough to produce anything but a one sided event.

However, Povetkin vs Chambers was close. I reckon Peter vs Haye would be very exciting. And Arreola vs Adamek looks to be very interesting.

Doesn't he have a degree is 'sports science' or some bull****? How does this, and getting punched in the face for a living, qualify you to be a mayor?

    Down sides of democracy.

Different celebrity’s get voted in important positions without any qualifications

As far as I know, there is no academic training for being mayor of a city. Besides, VK has been on the Kiev city council for years now. In a democracy, politicians should come from a wide variety of professions. It would be an interesting time for him to be mayor because Kiev is hosting the final of the Euro 2012 soccer tournament.

I've got mixed feelings on this one. I'll be glad to see him leave, but at the same time I can't help but feel he'll become even more over-rated when he retires. I bet the day he retires we see ATG heavyweight lists with Vitali at #1.

Yep, although he's only a 'Dr' in sports science he did have a reasonable education. Of course he had to pass the other courses besides his major. In the US you can become senator or even president with just beïng a popular athlete or actor, so it's not that rediculous...

He should just sort out a fight with Valuev; they'd make a lot of money from that in Europe, and it would be good to see Vitali fight a bigger man.

Then he should finish by fighting Haye, if he wins it's a brilliant note to end on, if he loses so what, he loses to a young, fresh fighter.

I like Vitali and part of me will hate to see him go. But he has looked old this entire comeback and is just a matter of time before he becomes completely old in the ring and gets knocked off. Valuev and Haye would be a good and dangerous way to finish up his career if he does retire then.
