especially the manner in the defeat as well, adamek did enough to win but it could be argued that arreola did enough to draw. certainly no disgrace there. it's like everyone has immediatley dismissed vitali fightng chagaev, chambers or thompson! imagine floyd using that one "im not fighting cotto or clottey cos pac already beat them" but with k2 they got some sort of co-joined resume. it is always "klitschko brothers clean up" never just vitali. i suppose one good point of this is it might get some us exposure because briggs is quite a character. but still it is a bad fight to take and one i just won't buy into. at this point of vitali's career what does a victory over briggs prove?
Firstly it does get mentioned. Secondly, they are the champs of different sanctioning bodies. Thirdly, the haters would be so damn fast to criticise them for fighting each other's left overs that it isn't funny. Face facts, in many people's eyes the brothers are very similar in dominance. If one of them has already smashed an opponent - then there is a good reason to expect that the other brother would do exactly the same. Yeah, sure, they are trying to give Briggs to Vitali so they can protect Wlad's eggshell chin. Meanwhile Wlad is doing his best to get Haye into the ring. Haye, who at this point, is a shitload more dangerous than Briggs. Wow, what a cunning way to protect that fragile Waldo! Yeah, rankings are a joke. Like Haye skipping straight to #4 on the WBA lists to justify his fight against Valuev. We know that rankings are corrupt. It sucks. So far the only credible opponents that have been mentioned that are 1) better than Briggs 2) aren't avoiding the Klits 3) aren't injured Seem to be Chambers and Chagaev. And who knows that the story with those two are? I think everyone is willing to admit that Briggs is a shitty, shitty fight. I can't imagine a real boxing fan who is happy about that.
I don't know about Chagaev (think he might be in line for Haye), but I can't imagine Chambers, who was just KO'd by Wlad, wanting to take another fight of such risk for himself....I'm sure he wants to try and rebuild right now, not get KO'd again.
