At heavyweight, is he really more than that? The guy lost rounds against Estrada, Arreola and has been hurt several times by 'decent' shots. The granite chin he had at 175lbs and cruiser, isn't there now and that was a key attribute for him. He's now become a boxer despite being a brawler for most of his careers, because it's the only way he can win against bigger men but it's not his strength. He's been very lucky so far. Had Arreola been 100% and in better condition, I have little doubt he'd have stopped Adamek. As much as I respect him, I just don't see Adamek as a top line heavyweight. A very fun, and good, fighter in the lower divisions, yes, but not heavyweight. Bum is going too far but he certainly isn't a threat to either Klitschko or Haye. Guys like Bob Foster found themselves to be too small against smaller heavyweights than Adamek, and Foster was a much, much better fighter in all areas than Adamek. To be a light heavyweight who can move up, you need to be special. Adamek simply isn't.
what does that even mean? and have you read my posts? im not a haye fan and i've given my opinion on Adamek, and clearly you dont like it
So fatass Toney and flabby Byrd and Chambers can fight HW, but not Tomasz, correct? Holyfield, Tyson, even Ali were all the same weight as Tomasz. Adamek is pushing 6'-3 and 220 lbs. with no fat. I don't think that's exactly small.
Styles make fights. end thread / edit Also, do you really believe that verbal malaria that you are spewing all over your keyboard? If so, I feel sorry for this forum having to endure the whole 8 thousand posts of yours.
They are not just decent . You can't just look at their competition alone which matters a lot don't get me wrong but since 1st Peter fight WK has been remarkably consistent. Yes HW has seen better days but there some decent fighters who just get outclassed by Klit brothers in such a way that makes they look like bums.
The problem is, you're comparing ATG James Toney, ATG Evander Holyfield, ATG Mike Tyson, ATG Muhammad Ali to the 'decent' Tomasz Adamek. As for Byrd and Chambers, they aren't elite. People aren't ruling Adamek out solely on size. The fact he's smaller doesn't matter because smaller fighters can beat big men, however, you need talent to do that. Adamek doesn't have enough talent.
you're missing my point, its not his height, or his weight, he was an excellent fighter at LH and cruiser with a good chin and good power, his fights at heavy have shown that he no longer has these attributes, i cant argue really because the division is shite, but it dosent change the fact that he will still get a beat down by either klit and be labelled a "bum" at heavyweight (as will haye before you start creaming your pants)
Styles do make fights, absolutely, and if you can't see that Adamek is tailor made for sharp, accurate, hard punchers like either Klitschko or Haye, you're deluded. In fact, if you want a lifetime ban bet that Adamek gets destroyed, I'll take it.
Adamek has proved even the experts wrong when he KO'ed Golota. Since then he's fought some decent opposition and gave Arreola a nice beating ala shrek. Although I'd bet on Vitali, Tomasz is the real deal.
