problem is..... I/WE dont know who was offered a fight and said NO.... Valuev - we know is not ready if ever Fury would never at this point Chagaev is dealing with WBO crap Povetkin..... ask Atlas Arreola.... really jack? Chambers... maybe,,, but would be a hard ticket to sell in Germany after the wlad fight Thompson..I thought was hurt Tarver.... even harder ticket to sell Boy..... Universum.... good luck While I agree if they had more time to get one of these guys IF they would.... the wolf is not as bad a Rahman IMO for a tune up fight with Adamak in September IMO it wont happen anyways, Wlad starts May 1... and like I said in another post, 2 of us are on both teams.... camp issues..... not sure it can be worked out
Have you seen him fight recently? And you seriously think he has anything left? Harrison would beat him, no doubt in a dreadful fight.
Actually the wolf is a little bit of a mystery IMO.... I havent seen or heard anything from him. I do know at one point.... he was "the guy who will beat BOTH klitschko's".......
BTW... did you guys get hit with a ton of snow? The news here in LA is making it sound like NJ is 20 feet deep
I know that most of those opponents have some "...but" following them and, you're right, some are frankly impossible. I just named a list of guys who are flat out better than Lyakovich is and that's all. When I mentioned Holyfield, I didn't mention him because 1% of me wants to see him fight Vitali, I did so because I know he'd beat Lyakovich. All of them would, so they are better opponents, even though the majority are mismatches. Like Arreola. Nobody wants to see that fight again, but he's still a better fighter than Lyakovich. If a Lyakovich fight is made, I know exactly what will happen. Vitali will dominate him and get the stoppage. he probably won't land a meaningful punch. Just completely and utterly boring. Like I said though, the quality is hardly great in the division but just because it's a weak division, it doesn't mean that Vitali should be excused for fighting the weakest of the weak. It's an atrocious fight.
You say that like it's not true. Have a look at these threads or trawl through my posts: http://www.eastsideboxing.com/forum/showthread.php?t=27185&highlight=klitschko http://www.eastsideboxing.com/forum/showthread.php?t=48582&highlight=klitschko http://www.eastsideboxing.com/forum/showthread.php?t=45851&highlight=klitschko Or just look at this: http://www.eastsideboxing.com/forum/showthread.php?t=110295&highlight=klitschko Yes, I'm a hater :-( The one difference between me and the majority of other Klitschko fans, including rayhogan and people like him, is that I'm not biased towards them. You look at those threads or some other of my posts and seriously tell me you think I'm biased against them. Seriously?
I do get what you are saying Jack.... Honest I do. I have this conversation with the brothers all the time... there are not a lot of good fights out there. For Vitali this fight so soon makes it even harder to get anyone "really really good" for lack of better words...... All Vitali can do is make offers.... some will say no and so will say yes.... then its "take the best of the YES".... and as you are well aware, the klitschko's bring the biggest $$ to the opponents and they want the big cash... sometimes it just doesnt make sense to make a certain fight.... hopefully something good will come down the pipe:good
Im just ****in with you jack:good Your a good poster and you do know boxing..... just remember... making fights is very very hard these days... boxing politics are insane... sometimes I am shocked fights can get made at all
The thing which annoyed me, was how my post was perceived as being anti-Klitschko because I was negative. Yes, I hate this fight but why does that automatically mean I'm hating on Vitali? Should I be making 10 threads proclaiming this to be the best fight since Ali/Frazier I in order to justify being an objective fan? I just hate the fight, but, if you read what I say, I know only part of the blame goes towards Vitali. He's picking a bad fighter out of a bad bunch, and, as I said, I'd only be "happy" about 3 or 4 fights in the entire division, which obviously isn't their fault. However, you have to call a spade a spade and admit this would be a farcical fight. I don't think you saw it, but I made a thread the other day titled something like "You have to feel for the Klitschkos". Of course, that gets ignored whereas anything that can be seen as slightly negative gets jumped on by the extreme Klitschko fans.
