I agree that an unbeaten fighter like Chisora would be better, but, as chef said, with all the politics and agreements that have to be made, and given the VERY limited number of *sellable* opponents left that haven't already been thrashed.......at least Vitali is staying active and plans to face Adamek not long after this fight. Can't complain here. Bring it ON!
The problem Vitali has in nobody wants to fight the guy. Valuev won't. Povetkin won't. Adamek is willing and waiting for September. After that who else is there for him to fight? Vitali is staying VERY busy in his comeback more busy than any other ranked Heavyweight has been in years.
come off it, don't insult my intelligence. if the only two physical possibilities are fighting lyak or being inactive, obviously it is the better choice. but i think you can appreciate, lyakhovic is one of the worst world rated opponents currently active.
i would prefer to see any of the following (this usually the point when a klit hugger dives in and shows why everyone apart from lyakhovic is unavailable) wladimir haye povetkin adamek chambers chagaev dmitrenko boystov helenius thompson ustinov toney ruiz valuev lyakovic is on the same level of credibility as chisora and tua IMO.
Again, Vitali is fighting a complete tomato can. And Klit fans are eating it up and saying that there is nobody else to fight. Come on man, Helenius, Tua, hell I's even take a Holyfield fight over Laikovich. He's rated 63rd on bocrec.com Sixty flucking third. That means that there are at least 60 better fights out there for Vitali to make and he picks a guy who hasnt fought in over a year? Pathetic. And again, Kit fans wont answer me on this. Another Briggs, Sosnowski type fight. And you guys talk about how Vitali has such a high KO rate. Thats because he fights fat old bums all the time.
