we saw shannon at the hospital the next day... his wife was crying in the hall. Its was very hard to see her so upset. Shannon was unrecognizable lying in the bed..... but very nice guy

It was border line criminal that no one manned up to save Briggs from himself. That was one of the most brutal sustained beatings in the last decade or so I'd say (along with Pac vs Margo and a few others).

Also, Briggs showed amazing heart to stand up to that onslaught.

we were saying the same thing in our corner..... "they need to stop this"... problem is Briggs' team more "works for him" then the usual " works with him"..... When he said "dont stop this".... they didnt

Yeah, I got that too. Vitali made sure he was right there in front of her and Briggs after the fight ended. It was "supposed" to be merely a show of respect.

However, it's always psychological with Vitali. He just wanted Briggs's wife to know he could violate both her and her husband at the same time if he wanted to. Briggs had just been savaged, so what's to stop VK from making her next? :D

    Mind games

No answer for the right hand. A near 50 YR old Foreman beat this guy when he was in his prime.

Vitali is the more exciting K fighter. But let's be real... he had a dead man in front of him and instead of really going for the kill he just beat him down mercilessly. He could of finish the job earlier, I think.

referee would have stopped it in 7th if there would be 10 more seconds left! After this beating Briggs sure won't fight again!

Vitali shouldn't have said things like your husband has big heart too big he hurt himself! Could have just said that briggs is warrior but thats Vitali not Wlad:lol:

Exactly, he was easily outboxed by Ibragimov as well as Lyakovich (to the moment of stoppage), and it was already a couple of years ago.

The funny thing is that he got his titleshot against Lyakovich just by having a name and fighting frequently enough...then after the loss to Ibragimov did exactly the same thing, and it somehow worked as he got yet another (not really deserved) chance.

That they allowed him to go back out after the tenth is a disgrace.

Terrible matchup, still better than Haye vs. Harrison or Wlad vs. Chisora though.

Don't forget that Vitali himself is a near 40 year old granddaddy. You can't expect him to tear things up like a 23 year old.
