both these aren't myths. Legal Punches did open up the cuts and Vitali was clearly gassing hard and was hurt in round 6. It's clear to see if you have watched the fight.
My first thought when I heard of a proposed rematch was that the cut was going to open again, and that Lewis would target that area of his face deliberately. It's very, very likely the fight could have ended on cuts yet again.
