I think some people are going thru the Tyson syndrome with Vitali. Remembering what he used to be like and expecting him to be the same. Sure theres a chance of that, but I HIGHLY doubt it. He's been gone for a long time with some pretty serious injuries. He's older, hasnt fought, hasnt trained for a fight, and has had injuries. If he does win, it wont be really easy. Its a 50/50 thing in my eyes. We've gotta see what Vitali looks like and see how Peter can handle the power that vitali probably still has. I'm picking Peter. I expect Vitali to look older, slower and not comfortable.
Really at 80% he will beat Sam Peter? Peter is no Williams and Danny was not in the shape he was for Tyson when he fought Vitali and Vitali still had to work to get him out of there.
If it was against Lennox Lewis, or against his brother, I'd agree with you. Vitali is away too long. But, it's Peter. Come on. If McCline was fighting Peter tomorrow, I would be afraid for Peter's safety. But, Vitali is bigger than McCline, with a lot more tangibles to go along with it.
I actually think he did alright vs Jameel. Let me explain. He was in trouble and showed heart. He got up off the canvas, showed composure and was able to come back and win. It was a test, and he passed. There are plenty of fighters throughout history that have been tested by someone they were supposed to blow out. It happens.
80% of that VITLAY is head and shoulders better than anybody that Peter has fought, except for WALD. And VITLAY has a much better chin than WALD, and better composure With VITLAY's punching accuracy, decent defense and good chin he will land at will on Peter, avoid getting hit very frequently, and when hit his chin will hold This is assuming he doesn't show up and look totally shot, which is possible, but nobody will know until the bell rings
Of course it is. He hasn't fought since 2004 and has had multiple surgeries since then, so there are a lot of unknowns I know what Peter is, a crude fighter with slow feet, terrible defense, solid chin, and overrated power. He is tailor made for the 2003-2004 version of VITLAY, but nobody can accurately guess how VITLAY will look in 2008
Your'e right, Peter can't hold Williams jockstrap. Williams has fought better fighters than Peter ever has, even if he has lost to them. At least Williams has actually BEATEN decent fighters. Peter has lost to every good fighter he has faced and been gifted wins. I think the poll says it all.
There's still a couple of months for Vitali to claim an injury and bail again . And for people talking about how good vitali's chin is, that doesn't mean **** if you're getting hit in the back of the head!
