    Really????

    1. Povetkin
    2. Wilder
    3. Fury
    4. Pulev
    5. Jennings
    6. Stiverrne
    7. Glazkov
    8. Chagaev
    9. Thompson
    10. Takam

    Current RING top 10

Wlad has currently defeated 5 in the top 10 and 3 in the top 5!!! And he's about to face number 3 fury

How many has Vitali beaten in top 10? None

    After losing to Wlad

Haye- destroyed Vitalis best victim chisora in 5 rounds. Vitali went the full 12 with chisora

Povetkin- number 1 rated contender in the world 2 years later

Chagaev- 6 years later still in the top 10

Thompson- 7 years later still in the top 10

It would've been real interesting to see Vitali face haye in 2012. Haye handled chisora a lot easier than the vitali did

Vitali never faced povetkin fury or pulev either. Not to mention chagaev in his prime or prime ibragimov

I agree. Vitali is one of the best older heavyweights who has ever fought.

But he dominated his top 10 because they were terrible. You know it and everyone knows it.

Adamek and Gomez weren't even the best cruiserweights or light heavyweights ever. Forget heavyweights.

Kingin? Sosnowski? Charr? Should we add in Danny Williams from his first reign? How about Ed Mahone from the WBO reign?

Who were considered his most dangerous challengers in three reigns? Chris Arreola and Solis?

Arreola wasn't even best guy Tomasz Adamek beat. Solis wasn't even the best guy Tony Thompson beat.

And you're questioning how good GEORGE FOREMAN REALLY WAS?

Were you taking PCP and smoking weed today with Tor Hamer before you logged on?

    Good Lord.

Ali would coast against nobodies because they were easy paydays in between major challenges and Hall of Famers. He also scored a half dozen knockdowns and stopped Blin, Wepner and Mildenberger.

Vitali beat ZERO hall of famers. He defended against ZERO hall of famers. He quit in his first reign against Byrd. He quit his second reign because he was too injured to fight Rahman. He retired in his third reign because he was too old.

And, somehow, he managed to NOT BEAT ANYONE OF NOTE.

If you want to add up all the rounds he didn't lose, fine.

When all is said and done, he also didn't leave much of an impression. Which is too bad.

Dominating rounds is just a poor substitute argument because his lack of actual quality opposition beaten. He's been hyping that up for years since the quality of guys that Vitali has actually beaten is really poor for someone of his ability.

What means more: shutting out an average fighter, or losing a couple of rounds en route to beating a fighter who's actually good?

To me Wlad is and has always been the better Klitschko. He was just younger and got caught early a few times. Vitali had a better chin but Wlad is more athletic and has challenged himself far more during the course of his career.

Peter was a good win. Adamek was a good fighter just not nearly big enough to compete with Vitali.
Vitali dominated barely losing a round but the opposition otherwise was lacking in his second reign for sure.

Yes, Foreman destroyed Frazier. Destroyed Norton ... But he sucked against Ali. So how good was he?

On the other hand, Vitali dominated Sosnowski and didn't lose a round.:happy

Makes all the sense in the world. :good:lol:

The opposition was lacking in ALL his reigns.

First reign: Ed Mahone and Obed Sullivan
    Second reign: Danny Williams
Third reign: ... well, you get the idea.

He had a lot of talent. The quality of the people he defeated is way down there, though.

Hyping it by counting rounds lost doesn't mask anything.

Although, at least Vitali didn't treat them as meaningless fights (like Ali and others did when facing that level of competition). I'll give him that.

Then again, to Vitali, those were his toughest challenges. So that's not saying much, either.

I agree that his resume lags behind Wlad's, in both quality and quantity.

It didn't necessarily have to be that way, but he was unlucky with injuries, and that is the way it turned out.

I think we are at cross purposes here.
I'm saying most of Wlad's title opponents have done nothing of any consequence since losing to him. I've already excluded Povetkin.

Chagaev 2009. Beat no one any good after.
    Rahman2008 Beat 5 nobodies.
    Brewster 2007. Had 4 fights W2L2. retired 2010 .
Peter.2010. Had 2 more fights W1 over a nobody L by ko to Helenius.
    Thompson2012 . Beat Price x2 and Solis.
    Mormeck 2012.JHad 2 fights wih nobodies W1 L1
Chambers 2006. Beat no one any good since.
Leapai 2014.Had 2 fights since, lost both.
Haye 2012. Had one fight beat Chisora then retired.
Wach 2012 Beat four journeymen .
    Pulev2014,Hasnt fought since.
    Ibragimov 2008.Retired immediately afterwards

The fact that some of these may still be rated ,not only just emphasises how putrid the division is, but how poor the overall standard of challenger was to begin with .

Vitali and Wald are probably about equal in terms of ability. Wlad has beaten better fighters than Vitalli has fought but he HAS NOT faced anyone better than Lennox Lewis and Vitali was edging the fight until he had to retire.

Also Wlad lost to Corrie Sanders and Ross Purity who Vitali beat easily. Vitali had a great career.

Yes he did and so has his brother and the level of both their opposition has been pretty dire.

He won titles, made a lot of money, and only lost twice. That's damn good. Nothing to be ashamed of.

But when his grandkids ask him who he beat, they're going to struggle to find anything on those guys.

Because he didn't beat anyone of note.

Lewis tore the whole side of his face off and stopped him in just six rounds. I know some people like to add the rounds he won in that fight, too. But it doesn't matter how many rounds you win when you can't even finish the second half of the fight because you had your face sliced to pieces from Lewis' right hand.

Defense is part of boxing, too. When he faced a guy his size, he got hammered.

The guys he beat weren't anything to write home about.

eh, Chisora and Arreola were top contenders at the time and about as dangerous as pre-"fitness" Povetkin would have been.

I mean, how can you say these guys were nothing to brag about because of what happened afterwards, but consider Haye to be solid? because he had one good win afterwards?

Personally I think Fury is the first really dangerous opponent Wladimir has faced since Peter. The division is just bad, and the Kliitschkos inevitably had to fight soft touches or else it would be just rematches against guys they destroyed.

Or rematches against the guys who actually conquered them. They didn't do a lot of that.
