I should think he could hold his belt until he is 50 ,if he fights untested ,and unproven guys like his next intended victim ,the question is does anyone, outside of yourself, care ?

There are two flaws in this kind of thinking. One is that often in boxing star power is created by the media, hype, public interest just as much or more than by the fighter's actualy ability. Other eras had bigger names for sure, which doesn't necessarily mean the fighters were better.

Second, consistency is way underrated in boxing. What is really more difficult to accomplish, the big win over an ATG, like Bowe's wins over Holyfield, or being dominant over a longer period of time, like Holmes? Sometimes a fighter may simply match up well against an ATG opponent, like Bowe matched up well with Holyfield. I don't think Bowe had it in him to own an era like Holmes or to even be as consistent as Vitali.

    Vitali's competition gets seriously underrated:

PEter - Beat Toney, Maskeev, McCline. A basic slugger, fastish hands and strong as an ox and in his prime. Not a great fighter by any means but a decent quality contender with a WBC baubel none the less, Vitali dominated him

Gomez - only 1 fluke defeat in his career, Cruser Champ, fought top contenders to get his shot, great amateur, good skills but past his prime. A good win, not great but good. Dominating him at 37, impressive

Arreola - top prospect, good technical skills, fat as anything but in his prime. Good win

Kevin Johnson - now this win I think is seriously underrated, Johnson has excellent defensive skills and thats why Vitali couldn't land, excellent jab, 6'3, 82inch reach, strong, prime very good skills imo. Johnson is the best HW of the lot, I wouldn't be suprised if he beat Haye or grabs a belt in the future

I've never really been a Klit fan, but I've began to accept how good they are, largely because of their physical strengths but boxing wise they are very good

Vitali is often horrible to watch, but he constantly lands 70-90punches a round while staying out of trouble and proving to have a good chin to boot, he is very efficient and calculated

Yeah, the Johnson win was awesome. Johnson is so special he didn't win a round.

He beat a 40 year old Bruce Seldon to get that shot you know, but somehow that didn't break him into a very weak top 10.

I'm not saying he's done loads, I'm saying I see ability in him, didn't Johnson nick a couple of rounds? Its not easy winning rounds against Vitali though and no I'm not a fan

Johnson is ok. But he's not that special. It was the nature of the win that was impressive, if anythin, but i'd say he's ranked 15-20 in a pretty weak division. Even if he goes onto do what you say, Vitali beat a green version.

That's the thing, and you did it yourself in your post, you can't inflate his competition without pointing out the manner of the win. Which is impressive, but doesn't make his competition more impressive.

Has he ever actually beaten anyone who was to 3? Was Peter maybe top 3 when they fought?

    Anyone?

Sanders was top2 according to the Ring. Peter may have been. Its a bit harder fighting a top3 fighter when you and your brother take up the first 2 places

Is that right? That makes me feel a little better. I hope Peter was too.

Had to be top2 or 3, thats why they gave him the ring title. I think it was 2 though. Johnson would beat allot of the top15 imo, but yes thats just mo

I like Vitali and his brother , but I am objective about the quality of his opponents,be a fan boy ,if you want, but dont try to convince us of something that patently is not so.

I don't get why either Klitschko would have fans...actually.
