Because that's what's happened in the last half a dozen fights Vitali has been signed up for. And as for having a stand in? That's not fair on the belt holder, preparing to face Vitali, setting up sparring partners to mimic fighting him, and then having to face somebody else. Vitali should have to fight ONE fight before getting a shot, just to prove he can. Have it on the undercard of Peters next fight. If they both win, set up a bit of a showdown etc in the ring (Hey, the "Peoples champ" is good at that kind of ****), like they did with Lewis and Bowe after Bowe beat Holy. That should generate a bit of interest for the title fight! ****, you want an exciting night of fighting, how about this. Peter v David Haye - WBC title fight Vitali v Ruiz - WBC title eliminator. Why not? Haye's probably not ready, but at least somebodies getting KO'd, and we get to see Vitali pound the Octopus!!!
:yep That's correct. Sam Peter has only ever fought one prime, top heavyweight, and he lost. Peter has done nothing to prove himself to be a world-class fighter, other than go the distance with Wlad. Both Toney and Maskaev were old, shot fighters. Toney is not a natural heavyweight anyway, his frame is too small.
Vitali is a lot tougher than Wlad and has a better chin. I don't look for much rust if you stay in the gym and spar you don't forget how to fight. I don't see Peter landing much on vitali. Peter loops his punches way to much and is slow as poison. THis should be an easy fight for Vitali. Wlad should stay away from Peter his chin is just to weak.
Yes and don't forget Toney was robbed out of the first fight. He kicked Peters ass in the first fight.
I think there is a window in July for this fight, also backup date in Sept., but Klitschkos do not come out with a date until it is finalized, they have always been like that. Vitali is the Emeritus Champion/WBC. Vitali had injuries, so he retired as the Emeritus Champion to keep from holding WBC title shots up. The WBC gave Vitali an agreement that he could fight for the title any time he decides to come back. Vitali had the right to fight Oleg first, but Don King kept putting out roadblocks because he knew that Vitali would knock Oleg out. Rather than keep fighting delays, Vitali did what he thought was best for boxing. Vitali has every right to this title shot, that was the agreement. Vitali by extremely brutal knockout over Peter!!!!!!! Also, Vitali was at ringside, yet HBO refused to interview him, so we have to turn to German news/Russian/Ukrainian, but no US news on this, of course.
Vitali is a non factor, if he does challenge Peter or not, the man will be 3 and a half years out of the game by that time, and hasnt been hit with a solid punch since. Everyone could make fun of Peters style all they want, but look at Vitali, he looks goofy as **** and is always lossing his balance when he's pressured, if Travis Walker could lay Vitali out, I'm sure Peter can.
No, but he has been layed out in sparring, which led to the Rahman cancellation, two sparring partners layed him out actually, one being Travis Walker, the other name I cant remember if you want proof, I could tell you where to go to find it, if your interested in seeing the article for yourself.
He's been TKO'd twice. Saying Vitaly has never been knocked out is like saying McCall didn't knock out Lewis.
Kirk was talented in 1996.. Danny isn't as good mentally or consistantly as Samuel.. at the highest level. Corrie Sanders was fortunate to have won a version , and if he ever met Samuel he would have been stoped like he was by a fat Nathaniel Tubbs when Corrie was at his so called best.. Samuel Peter is superior now than any of those three were when they faced Vitali, in fact Vitali may get a shock when he realises the physical strength of Samuel.. He will know himself if that day comes.. What he brings to the heavyweights is confusion, they would be able right now to start to Unify if he stayed retired.. But he just holds the progress up, he should wait in line.. Emirus status whatever they call it is another word for primadonna .. he thinks the world should stop for him... If he wins and Wlad stay champ what then.. they wont face each other, they just keep the titles fragmented.. Its all a bit wrong and a bit too Klitshko orientated.. Like the division was made for those two..
As far as I know, if Vitali were to pull out for any reason then the mandatory challenger would immediately get the shot. So that would be the Virchis-Gomez winner. That base is covered, at least. Of course, preparing to fight Vitali Klitschko and then suddenly fighting a smaller opponent, especially if it's a crafty boxer like Gomez, would be pretty rough on Peter. But them's the breaks when you're champ.
Two times he lost due to an injury but Vitaly clearly NEVER was knocked down as a profesional boxer Byrd fight "After the 9th round Klitschko claimed a injured shoulder and the bout was stopped. He was later diagnosed with a torn rotator cuff." Levis fight "The fight was stopped after the 6th round, on the advice of ringside doctor, Dr. Paul Wallace, due to a large cut over Klitschko's left eye." Two times BETWEEN ROUNDS the fights were stopped due to injuries.
If Vitlai beats Peter, he'll give leave the door of opportunity open for Lewis, and Byrd for re-matches. Ruiz is ranked 5th in the WBC as of March 5th, and recently beat McCline. For all we know, Ruiz might get the winner of Vitlai vs Peter.
