Vlad has improved and I have to say I have not seen too many heavyweights or boxers who dominate in such a fashion that they are always in control. Vlad does not even open up all of his book of skills, he does not need to. His fights may be boring to some but he knows his weaknesses and dominates without showing his whole repitore

I just wish he would have thrown more than just the same ole 1-2 when he had Chagaev on the ropes right before it was stopped.

I don't have any problem with how he fights personally, he's not my favourite fighter, but he is effective.

I agree I like his brother style-wise better but Vlad has such a good defence and leg movement. He does not take any risks, we all now he has a great hook but he used it once to slap. His Jab is one of the best I have seen

No doubt he takes his considerable assets and makes use of them. Cannot falt him. Marciano or Frazier did not enter a ring and try to win with a jab but with what worked for them ... however, let's be clear ... many of the best heavyweights would manage to get past that jab and crush that chin of his ... he is competing against a rather flat group of fighters here ...
