    I think the consistency argument can be legitimately disputed.

    Going into the 1956 Hurricane Jackson fight, when Baker was turning 30, Baker was 44-5-1. He then went 7-11 as he declined badly. Most of his defeats were to rated men.

    Through the Tommy Farr fight, when Neusel was turning 30, he was 45-5-5. Neusel did much better the rest of his career than Baker, but against lesser competition than Baker was facing.

    So prior to 30, Baker is at least as consistent against better competition. After 30, Baker declines rapidly, retiring at 33, while Neusel hangs on as a competitive fighter into his forties.
