Walters Fails To Make Weight

Walters has a very dangerous opponent in front of him tomorrow!

 

Yet the in ring weight advantage of Walters over Donaire was what? four pounds? People want to make that excuse for Donaire, yet Donaire outweighed Rigondeaux by more than that when Rigondeaux spanked him.

Yes it seems like Walters doesn't get the same cab driver, fruit stand vendor treatment like Lomachenko, or Donaire do. He's the champ, I have no problem with a tough match up. I have a problem when promoters handle their fighters differently. Give Walters the same kind of showcase match ups you give Donaire, or Lomachenko. He did Rigondeaux the same way. Give Donaire all the scrubs to look good against, but then put Rigondeaux in odd match ups, then complain that he didn't look good.

Does anybody know when Walters' contract with Top Rank ended? If he plans to become a Нaymon's fighter after 1-2 bouts, the current overweight is a wise move to stay unbeaten (and so attractive to Al), because Loma first of all wants unification fights - dream match in Dubai will not take place.

 

That was my first thought. Is this fight still going ahead? Marriaga looks great betting value if so.

 

From what I've heard, Selby is big at the weight too.

 

Rodriguez, and Pinyapinyo, were showcase type opponents. Lomachencko for all his master boxing, couldn't handle a fat out of shape Salido. Walters would have KO'd that Salido. Walters would have also KO'd Russell Jr. Donaire is in with his second can in a row, and before Rigondeaux whoop his ****, he was being matched against scrubs in show case fights. I'm just saying Arum doesn't match all his guys in the same way.
