Wanderlei Silva vs Cung Le

If Wanderlei has long odds I'll be taking a punt on an upset. I don't think Cung has Leben like power to punish Wandy for wading in.

 

Silva's chin is terrible............ and it's only getting worse.

 

Cung is also getting up there in age, he looked good in his last fight, but I doubt he is still in his prime.
It will still be a decent fight either way as both are not in there primes anymore.

 

Dream on.

Wand hasn't done **** with the Thai plumb and knee's since 2006. :verysad

 

This is a better fight than Cung vs Belfort. Belfort's boxing is far too good for a rusty Cung Le, that one would've been a pretty similar blow-out to Belfort vs Akiyama. With this one, we have a shot Wandy who relies too heavily on boxing/brawling vs a rusty Cung Le who relies on too heavily on kicks and knees. Whenever you get two one-dimensional, pseudo-damaged goods fighters, you get a wild fight. Unfortunately, I'd have to go with Cung to win by KO after a a crazy war.

Still not interested. Cung knocks him out with the breeze from his right jab.

 

Cung Le wins this pretty easy. Wand is just to shot. ****in hate seeing these legends getting tooled by lesser fighters.

 

Much worse fight. A shot fighter whose chin and reflexes are slipping against a great striker who throws stuff he's not used to sounds to me like an inevitable KO. Le vs. Belfort was a lot more interesting. Still, at least Le will get a win under his belt against a "name" guy and we'll get to see more of him.

 

what?! wandy is done. This isn't going to be a good fight....how can anyone actually want this fight over the vitor fight?

 

Wand is always fun to watch but still he is not the same as he was

 

I partly blame that on his style. He just wades the **** in, a lot of the time against bigger fighters and has nothing but his hands nowadays. Has he ever even attempted a clinch in his last 5 or so fights? I don't recall. His gameplan against Leben was absolutely ridiculous. What's the one ****ing thing you don't do when you've hurt Leben? Storm in without a brain. Job well done on that one, Wandy.

If he wants to be a berserker, he's going to be put out like a light everytime.

 

Actually, in his last fight he stopped that "low level fighter" who hits like a truck. Smith isn't necessarily a world beater but he hits hard, and otherwise he was tooling Smith in the first fight which arguably should have been stopped. Le also beat Frank Shamrock. I think Le KO's Wand in the latter part of the first round. Sucks Vitor pulled out though.

 

I'm pretty sure he tried to get the clinch on leben before he got crushed with consecutive uppercuts of doom. Gifs anyone?
