Never watched Brand but I watched the last fight of the guy he's last beaten (Donfack) and what I can say is that it's impressive pulling off a shutout against that guy. This is a decent fight.

I just hope he visually looks in decent shape. Unlike Paul Smith who came in as a disgusting fat body!

You really should be ashamed of yourself for this statement.:-( You're verging on becoming a full fledged troll Jake.

He's done a little better job hiding it up until now, he's a full blown GGG hating zealot recently.

How can a guy a.) who kept the WBC belt for years without defending it, b.) who by many is seen p4p caliber fighter c.) Who believes he can beat Klitschko

take a fight like this and find a promoter who wants to sell it?

It seems Ward has zero confidence on his ability and should not fight at HBO.

Ward has zero respect to his opponents, fight fans or the sport - He doesn´t want to please the fans by fighting and he sure doesn´t want play fair and fight opponent of his own size. What a clown!

If Ward was fighting 4 times a year at 168, I actually wouldn't have a problem with this fight.

That's not the case, though. At 175, fighting infrequently, on a huge PPV card, this just doesn't do it for me. You wanna do another tuneup after Smith, fine, but pick a guy at 175 to at least get you ready for the difference in strength and size coming your way.

It's better than missing the card altogether though, for sure.

***** pipe down Golovkin/Lemieux was main event and that's the biggest mismatch in years, perhaps the biggest mismatch in MW title history.

Total garbage. I'd rather Ward had stayed inactive than have to watch this ****.

I was a big fan of Ward after the Super 6 but he has totally ruined his career with inactivity and fighting bums. Shame!

    Seriously?

It makes all the sense in the world to feature Ward on this card. I won't be buying it regardless, as I loathe PPVs as a general principle these days, but featuring Ward on the card not only makes sense, but is in fact imperative given the context of the HBO deal.

Have they bumped Haskins v Caballero from the card (no longer loited on boxrec)? That's far better fight than Ward v the bum of the month
