Bumlovkin would earn leagues more respect for beating Ward than he does for beating a Rubio leftover...
Ward is the undisputed P4P king of the negotiating table. Apparently GGG turning him down has the ripple effect of Andre being unable to fight any top 10 fighter as well. Now that's power.
he wont get respect if he keep fighting the geales and rubios of the world. ggg - ward is big fight . Boxing fans want it, golov****s dont
why do you find him boring? he's very educated in the ring. Fights on the outside, great fighter on the inside. He throws punches, doesn't just stand and pose. He makes guys miss, he roughs people up on the inside. Ward is truly an old school boxer in the present day.
Calzaghes best win: Kessler. Wards best win: Kessler. Comparasion: Pretty much equal. Calzaghe didn't foul though, but Ward did. Calzaghes second best win: Hopkins or Eubank. Wards second best win: Froch. Comparasion: Edge Ward. Froch is a hell of a fighter and he was in the run of his career. Eubank and Hopkins may be bigger names, but neither where at their best. Calzaghes third best win: Mitchell or Lacy. Wards third best win: Abraham or Dawson. Comparasion: Edge Calzaghe. Abraham wasn't any good at SMW, and Dawson seemed badly drained. Save best wins, it's Calzaghe that have racked up all the defences. Anyone who says Ward is easily ahead has made a poor ****yze IMHO. They are very close, but Calzaghe is a bit ahead. At this rate, Ward will be remembered as delusional, though. I don't think he will get his act together.
Of course Ward is ahead. A green Ward beat up Slappy Joe's best opponent in his first WORLD TITLE fight. Ward was the underdog, nobody knew him, and Kessler was the favorite to win the tournament, not to mention the best SMW of his generation. Ward toyed, outclassed, beat him up, and won the tournament. A green Ward simply accomplished more than Slappy Joe. Slappy Joe's best win is an INJURED Kessler and a SD win against a 50 year old senior citizen.. :rofl No lie, this is what his resume literally consists of.
Ward is a pale version of Calzaghe. He just takes the avoidance of tough fights one step further, and is even more of a hometown fighter. It would make sence to view him as Calzaghes ghost sort off.
Not gonna happen until Sergey shows serious vulnerability. Ward likes to bully little guys. He was a very big SMW. Now he is not even fighting at 168 but wants to fight a small MW.
