Ward still has a long way to go...

    Sometimes I wonder if the same people saying Ward is good are the ones who said Abraham would murder Froch. How can people look at that video and make accusations Ward beat Bika better than Calzaghe? Let alone use the whole Kessler argument.

    Kessler was shot; even Antonio Tarver commented it during the Froch fight - and I quote - "Kessler had one of the best one two's in boxing that you wanna see in boxing. Now he just pushes it out there" .

    Plus Calzaghe laid down the game plan for Kessler for Ward to use.

    Now lets look at Bika. Joe Calzaghe had to adapt and box in that fight while Bika mauled. Andre Fraud couldn't even use that blueprint to beat Bika - that is how limited he is! He could not use the gameplan Joe laid out to beat Bika by outscoring him...he just couldn't do it he doesn't have the skillset.
    He had to use the ref to break them up when Bika was getting the better inside (I made a post before with screenshots for you to look at).

    Calzaghe actually punched Bika cleanly. He boxed. He used his skill to score points outside.. Andre Fraud just grabs and mauls.

    Sure Calzaghe looked rough but he was roughed up, headbutted and mauled but he still beat Bika. Fairly. On points. by being the better boxer. With no controversial decision.

    Many people had the Bika Ward fight close. Many couldn't even say who won each round clearly!!!!

    I had it for Bika and I know several others here did too. We may be in the minority but I've yet to meet a person who scored the Calzaghe Bika fight for Bika.

    you can stop wondering. I say Ward is good all the time and I picked Froch to win a UD against Abraham.

    If I remember correctly that fight (Bika/Calzaghe) happened in '06. It was Bika's 23 Pro Fight while Calzaghe (a Belt-Holder) was a vet of 41 Pro Fight. People actually believe that when a young inexperienced fighter loses or doesn't look very good in a fight...that it's just not possible for the fighter to get better. Bika has had 10 fights since the Calzaghe loss (before the Ward fight) including winning the "Contender" and has a new trainer. But because he lost a fight 6 years ago, to Calzaghe, this somehow translate into Ward not being a good fighter.

    Sergio Martinez a Top 5 P4P Fighter got TKO'd by Antonio Margarito in 2000. And I do belive Martinez has gotten better...right. Andre Ward just went 12 rounds with a tough Vet in his 23 Pro Fight. Ward is still in the early stage of trying to figure out if he is going to be a Boxer, A Puncher, A counter-Puncher...A kid still learning. Who just recently dominated the Favorite to win the Tourney in Kessler. Calzaghe was an Experienced Boxer outclassing a clueless 25 year old kid in Bika.

    If you dont' understand RULE #1 of being a Boxing Fan...STYLES MAKE FIGHTS, then why are you even on a website specifically made for the HARDCORE BOXING FAN!!! This was one of the Stupidest Threads ever made!!!

    I know styles make fights. that's why I was the one out of every 500 on this forum who said Froch would school Abraham - which he did.

    Ward's style is dirty. Like you say styles makes fights and like you say Ward is still in the early stage of his boxing career and style....which is why this thread says 'Ward still has a long way to go' and which is why when you call it one of the stupidest thread ever made you're contradicting yourself because you've made a statement saying Ward is still green yet are knocking the thread for saying this too! :think

    Maybe you have a point...however, When a thread starter refers to a fighter as Andre Fraud...it doesn't sound like the saying "he still has has a long way to go". Then shows video of a fighter who fights in a different style beating a young inexperienced fighter as if Ward vs Bika mimics Calzaghe vs Bika from 2006...This was a HATE on Ward thread from the Beginning. So don't trying turn into something esle.

    And for the Record...Everybody and THEIR MOMMA knew Froch would coast to a UD over the Low-Work-rate Abraham. Don't act you just re-invented the wheel with that prediction.

    OP I take it you never watched Calzaghe-Bika, Bika hit him with loads of right hands all night and it deserved to be much closer on the score cards than it was

    Apparently Ward is still figuring out what style he has???? what? after 20+ fights he doesn't know??? What does that say about Ward then and his team? by team I include, trainers, promoter, manager, refs, judges......

    Dude...I am well aware that Bika is a Tough Vet, That has gotten better and has NO problem with fighting anyone. It's was the TS that was trying to claim that Ward (Andre Fraud as he calls him) is a Poor fighter.

    At first i thought Froch will win a UD if Abraham doesn't change his style a bit... after I listen to some friends that i thought they know their boxing better then I do and other poster and my mind was changed into thinking Abraham will Ko Froch in round 11th or 12th. I was wrong ...i even lost v.cash. What's so wrong and bad if I thought the fight was gonna go 1 way and it went the other? Should I be ashamed or something ?
