His nickname. Apparently some people think he should actually fight like the Son of God, since he has that moniker.
Carl's and his team will have a hard job figuring out a game plan for this fight, normally if Carl was fighting a skilled boxer and he had the edge in power and toughness, I would like him to put the pressure on and rough the ''boxer'' up, but that would be playing ward at his own game. Maybe the best bet is for Froch to keep Ward on the end of his long jab and try to open him up with it, but im not sure that will work either:think
Don't get me wrong fellas, Carl is definitely in with a chance and Ward will have to really earn it. Froch is very deceptive, he's more than the sum of his parts and he has a way of imposing himself on his opponent, with his swagger and mental toughness but Ward really has to be the favourite. Froch gets hit far to often and far too cleanly. Ward will take it on effective punching and ring generalship. He'll definitely have to adjust though at some point in the fight and it might be early, once he does that it's a rap! Froch is gonna get ripped with body shots, especially the jab. Kessler basically beat him with body shots and it's the most underrated of Wards offensive arsenal.
........................................NO. Don't even attempt to be smart mate. Just leave it, just leave it........
Slip and Counter, who do you think will win this fight..? Whats the point in writing all of that..? If you are not going to fully back a Winner...? This fight is a straight forward and simple fight in my opinion for Carl Froch. Andre Ward is not a complete fighter, he cannot be complete fighter. If he does not have the ability to fight in a bullish, physical, type of fight. Fair enough, he can dance about, duck and dive, and throw afew combinations and pot shot. "Loads of black people can do its normal, its just like dancing" Apart from that a determining factor in this fight, will be Andre Wards physical strength. Everybody is ignoring this massive flaw, that he is a weak individual. And i fully well know that Boxing is a prodominantly skill oreintanted sport. But no matter what all these people say, at the end of the day. These guys are athletes's, and physical components play a major part in this sport, when certain fighters apply different styles. We already know afew key points: 1. Andre Ward does not hit hard enough to hurt Carl Froch. 2. Carl Froch has released statements, that he has no respect for Andre Wards power. 3. Carl Froch is coming to fight. We are going to get afew people, bring up the classic point. People always like to say, when a fighter has Zero punching power. "Andre Ward has great timing" Timing is not going to do **** for Andre Ward in this fight. Andre Ward in my opinion cannot fight under constant pressure, he will simply crumble physically. "Sometimes its just this simple" "Facing Carl Froch is not only like trying to climb mount everest" Its like facing Rafael Nadal on a tennis court. There are plenty of players that can match Rafael Nadal for playing ability in terms if skill and version, but can they keep it up for 5 sets, can they keep it up for 6 hours. Point after point, Minute after minute, Hour after hour. "90% of the time, they can't" Andre Ward is not going to have a easy fight, its going to be a physical fight. And i literally don't think he has the physicality to keep up, that kind of intensity for 3minutes of everyround. Andre Ward might be winning this fight after 3 rounds, Andre Ward might be wining this fight after 6 rounds, he might be winning after 7.....8 rounds. But somewhere along the way, he will break down mentally and physically. Becase Carl Froch just like Rafeal Nadal, will just keep hanging in there. Everytime Andre Ward lands a flurry, Carl Froch will answer, it might be a body shot, it might be a hit on the arm, forearms, body, head, hands/gloves. Everytime Andre Ward thinks he's hit a winner, across the other side of the court. Carl Froch will just take the shot, and keep coming, just like Rafael Nadal, getting the ball back time and time again........when the other players think they have hit a winner. This accumulative affect, will destroy Andre Ward mentally, aswell as the beating he will take along the way. "He's ether getting knocked out, or quiting on his stool" "Carl Froch is a unique individual, he GENUINELY believes that he is the Cobra, some kind of cult warrior lord. When you sign on the dotted line to fight Carl Froch, you now enter into the world of the Cobra. Which is a violent and hostile world, where only predators survive. The only prey that egsist is other predators, they become the prey in the world of the Cobra" "All this talk of Carl Froch boxing more, and coming with a plan A and plan B, that's just talk for the Camera's. Once the Cobra rises, its just man on man warfare. Until somebody quits, or breaks down menatlly and physically..............
That was genuinely entertaining, but you're backing another Audley scenario here PK. There is no single way, Carl Froch is going to win this fight. Ward is not going to be easily bullied, I don't know where you've got that idea quite honestly.
Technically, Ward is quite good. He isn't flawless but generally he is one of the better fighters out there who has obviously worked alot on his game since he first turned pro.
Slip is back :happy Great post all round Slip, there was a Vernon Forrest thread a while back that I really wanted your insight on :fire PK; that's what I was talking about :yep :good
