Ward's next opponent will be...?

We wont see Ward again until the fall.Now he has that cut over his eye. Who knows how long that will take to heal!

 

He's losing to Kovalev.

 

Barrera only has 18 fights. Not much to look back on. But its obvious he was picked because he was slow handed and had never been 12 rounds so that's makes a fighter unsure of himself. I noticed all that.

 

The only way I see Kovalev loosing is he cant handle inside fighting.

 

Probably either Vyacheslav Shabranskyy or Fonfora. If Shabranskyy is available by July, I'm 90% sure Ward will fight him.

 

Fonfara is with Al Haymon, so that fight won't happen.

I think it'll either be Shabranskyy, Pascal or maybe Chilemba.

 

If you were a slow handed fighter who throws wide looping punches but have never been past 6-7 rounds your instinct is to be conservative. Especially against a sharp shooter like Ward. That could be why Barrera didn't press Ward much. He didn't want to blow his wad and end up in round 10 gassing and getting brutally KTFO! In the early rounds Ward was moving away from Barrera and you could tell Barrera didn't really couldn't decide how to attack Ward. It was he was unsure of himself! I would have told him to jab!

 

His inside game is certainly the weak part of his ****nal.

Personally I think Ward is going to find it alot harder to get in close without getting hurt. Kovalev has great timing and judging of distance with his feet that I think will come into play big time.

It's an excellent fight, just have the feeling it's a fight that Kovalev is going to shine in.

 

Kovalev has long arms also. I have a feeling Ward will try punch and clinch. Kovalev should get used to backing up when Ward does that. Catch him with a hook.

 

I still cant find an answer as to why Andre Ward wasn't throwing his right hand when it was obvious from the nose bleeds that you have a target all night. Is he just going to use lefts all his career?

 

That really sucks. Ward vs Stevenson would be great. What a shame. We boxing fans are getting screwed. :verysad Why cant Haymon and Jay Z just be friends? Do it for the sport and the fans!:verysad

 

It's not even that, Ward is with HBO and HBO themselves do not work with Haymon.

 

That right, damn. Hey but Golovkin vs Wade is on HBO and Wade is manged by Haymon.:think
