Pretty much sums it. Neither are choir boys. Most of the Froch fans and Ward haters are trying to focus on Ward's dirtiness while ignoring Froch's own dirtiness just to cope with the schooling Froch is about to get. Ward's skills in relation to his dirtiness is far greater than Froch's. And that's what it all comes down to.

His trainer is right and has a point in saying this because everything Froch did was clearly intentional. Ward can always be speculated as some head-first dirty fighter. His style enables clashes to happen. I don't think he's as dirty as Bradley, whom also his a style that enables such clashing. I just think Bradley is more intentional with his butting.

Hitting Dirrell to the back of the head was due to Dirrell's excessive clinching (for which he got a point taken off for).

Hunter might be right that if they can frustate Froch he will get dirty but I don't think that is how they will try and play it.

Round 5. Dirrell is doing nothing but boxing Froch's socks off. Dirrell tries to clinch one time, and Froch in frustration throws him to the ground.

Fouling however is not in any way irregular in British boxing. From Benn ending McLellans career and almost his life with rabbit punches, to Hatton low blowing Tszyu into retirement. Its the risk you run fighting overseas.

Dirrell tries to clinch one time....

**** off. Dirrell spent more time holding than fighting in that fight. No exaggeration.

Well, Dirrell was clearly outboxing him that round and that was the first clinch attempt almost 1:30 in. That was a frustration move by Froch to throw him down like that.

TAlking about round 5. Dirrell clinches once in that round. Froch tosses him down. Why?

No clinching in boxing now? :rofl You **** off.

There were 2 other clinches in the round - both initiated by Froch. If you'll don't believe me go to :34 and :25 (roughly) and pay close attention to who grabs who.

Yes, clinching/holding is illegal. I'm surprised at how many boxing fans on this site don't know that.

Clinching is illegal? Then why doesnt every fight end in disqualification. Why are Shane Mosley and Bernard Hopkins going to the HOF. :patsch

Again answer the question, why did Froch throw Dirrell down after one clinch, after he had initiated 2 clinches in the round himself?

Was it because he was getting his ass schooled? :yep

A bit? Froch is a saint in the ring compared to Ward.

Yes you ****ing dolt. Don't act high and mighty when you don't understand the basic rules of the sport. Clinching/holding (or grappling as referred to in the Marquess of Queensbury rules) is illegal. Thats why the ref yells "break" and makes fighters stop doing it. Duh.

    From this site - http://www.abcboxing.com/documents/abcboxing_referee_rules_and_guidelines.htm

    1. Unsportsmanlike conduct to include the three key fouls:

    Ø Head butting
    Ø Low Blow and
    Ø Holding

Establish Control. Briefly go over fouls in general, but explicitly discuss the three most common fouls and harmful fouls. Instill in the boxers a sense of respect for the event and that you demand that they follow the rules and your commands without exception.

    Round 4 Clinches or Holds:

    Dirrell: 0
    Froch: 1

(Watch Froch wrap his arm around Dirrell's head with about 10 seconds left)

    Round 3 Clinches or Holds:

    Dirrell - 1
    Froch - 0

(At the very beginning of the round Dirrell clinched when he got in close)

So that's roughly 7:20 without a single clinch from Dirrell when Froch decided to throw him to the ground.

    Round 2 Clinches or Holds:

    Dirrell - 0
    Froch - 0

    Round 1 Clinches or Holds:

    Dirrell - 0
    Froch - 0
