Yes I think in this case Warren is trying to stage the fight here in U.K, and Maidana's handlers want it staged in U.S I think.

 

Purse bids works thusly:
The Boxing Organisation sends out emails and faxes to all promoters registered with it's organisation.The Boxing organisation calls for a bid on a particular fight and states a time and place where this bid is to be sent.The promoter sends a sealed envelope (in many cases it is hand delivered) with their purse bid.The bid includes the total purse combined for both fighters.The envelope has 10% of the purse bid in a certified cheque also enclosed in the envelope.The promoter with the highest bid wins.All other cheques are returned to the losing bidders.
