i don't ever remember being particularly pleased about that fight. i remember thinking it was just a payday.
Warren is a lying arsehole. He never wanted Hatton to fight Zoo as he thought Hatton would lose. He wanted him to face Harris or Spadafors instead. The Hattons stuck to their guns and eventually got their wish. Hatton wanted to face the best after years of wasting his prime years fighting fringe contenders. Watch the pre-fight intros for the Zoo fight. Warren is clearly shitting himself. Of course in the end he lost Hatton anyway
Good article. Warren makes some really good points. He seems to really want his old friend Hatton to win despite the fact that Hatton turned his back on him. It looks like Ricky turned his back on another promoter as well. It's sad to tell you the truth. I thought Ricky was real down to earth, humble, loyal guy who was in it for the pure passion of the sport. Seems like he's just like the rest, a selfish individual only looking to line his own pockets.
Guys who tell the truth only after they are out of the picture just rub me the wrong way. He reminds me of the Good Soldier politician who says all the right things while on board, then after he's out of loop he goes to the biggest news outlet and spills his pathetic guts about all the mistakes that were being made.
