Calling Pav a shot alcoholic is a little premature. I've seen Pav get outclassed by better boxers but I've never seen him look broken. Degale may be the real deal but Pav would be a massive step up that could backfire with dire consequences. If Pav can fight off addiction, he may just feel he can fight off anything and that would make him very dangerous. Pav has proven he can fight in the trenches and Degale hasn't come close to proving that.
I still say i'd put my dosh on Degale. Pavlik is fairly easy to deconstruct if you have top level skills, add in the fact that he's worse at 168 than at 160 and i see a hard night ahead for pavlik
he beats pavlick but to be fair pavlick is awful , lets get the big domestic fight on forst then if pavlicks he route frank wants to take then so be it , its a fight james is well capable of winning and gets his name out to the yankie doodles
Think people are really under Rating Pavlik here! Remember the seasoning the two people who beat him had!!!
a little harsh maybe but in reality he is , hes beat no-one of any note if he didnt sell tickets and have a good (****) promoter he would have been doing well to pick uo a strap , he had his scraps with taylor other than that its emmbaresed by hopkins and the same only to a slightly lesser extent by sergio no shame in loosing to those two but he hasnt beaten anyone either
I think he should take on Lacy .... he's still a name (kind of) and less dangerous than Pavlik at this early stage of his career
I thought Pavlik looked thoroughly discouraged and mentally gave up against both Hopkins and Martinez.
I'd like this fight. Pavlik would want it. DeGale has a good chance of winning. Wouldn't really be that bad if he lost his 0.
