If he'd defended his title in the previous 16 months, or faced his mandatory challenger within the previous 12 months, he wouldn't have needed a "tick over".

Can xu pulled out and lara stepped in at 5 weeks notice. U don't need to fight your mandatory until its called. Its not like they hadn't fought b4 but u forget that. We all know hearn loves a rematch so if kid hadnt of stank the show out he would of been all over it. Close first fight local rivals £££££

    "Until it's called"?
He had a year to fight his mandatory. He didn't.
Hearn told Barry that Warrington wouldn't fight him. He couldn't make him get in the ring.

I wonder in a parallel universe what would have happened to JWs career if he never went to QP?

I dont blame warrington for not fighting kid galahad again and dropping the belt. Wasnt long ago he beat him in a close fight...but one no one really wanted to see it again. Warrington has a big following....all it takes is 2 or 3 boring fights before people start to turn off. Galahad got his oppertunity...was a bit unlucky....but if you,ve no following and your known for making fights boring you really have to take the oppertunity when you get it.

I do blame him for shamelessly ducking lara tho. The kids actually fighting before warrington is. Surely if lara comes through his next fight and warrington beats martinez...lara deserves a shot at that title next.

Think this is a real good post. Tho having took a rematch after being brutal stopped his already took a rematch so his not really ducked him. My take is the opportunity to box kiko in a very winnable fight where his a betting favourite will potentially build his confidence. If he wins and doesn't fight lara I'll defo agree with ya.
