This is more his hatred towards Andy Ruiz Jr & his dislike of Eddie Hearn driving these statements

AJ is a bodybuilding BUM is what Arum was trying to say.

Justis Huni hasn’t impressed so far. He has limited power and got seriously hurt by Kevin Lerena. Hopefully he can gain some power as he gets older and fills out a bit. Seems like they’ve taken a step-back with his matchmaking after the Lerena performance who is a small heavyweight himself like Andrew Tahiti was.

How many times did Lerena knock Dubois down?

    Ruiz's best wins:

38 year old Liakhovich via competitive 10 round decision

38 year old Kevin Johnson via competitive 10 round decision

40 year old Arreola via challenging 12 round decision

43 year old Ortiz via controversial 12 round decision

29 year old Anthony Joshua via 4 KD beatdown, NOMAS7

Fighters Ruiz was unable to beat:

    24 year old Parker

    36 year old Miller

Other fighters who survived 58% stoppage ratio Ruiz:

    Alcaraz (0-3-1), Lopez (2-2), Morales (5-8-5), Herrera (6-4-3), Johnson (5-6), Fonseca (9-4-3), Godfrey (17-14-1), Zumbano (37-11-1), Lawrence (21-2-2)

Arum: "Any fighter who gets knocked out by Andy Ruiz is not an elite fighter."

Yes actually unless I’ve miss understood something? You claim he’s elite because he was the champ but the same logic doesn’t apply to his predecessor who he beat surely if Martin isn’t elite then that makes the guy who beat him not also?

Why does being the champ make one elite and not the other?

He was elite until Ruiz stole his mojo.

Thus. He WAS elite up to Ruiz. Since then he's been a good HW who can beat B and C level opposition but not A level.

Most would argue that AJ only became "The champion" after he beat Wlad and that AJ then cemented that claim with a win over Parker.

Nobody has ever claimed that CM was ever the champion and not really a champion either.

We have to remember that Arum is even more evil than Hearn.
If AJ was his fighter, we'd be hearing the exact opposite.

But AJ got TKO'd by one of the worst HW champions the world has ever seen in Ruiz Jr. and ran in the rematch. That loss is worse than any Fury, Wilder, Joyce, Parker, Whyte, Povetkin etc. ever had.

People still attack Fury for getting dropped by Cunningham, who he then KO'd, and Cunningham was way better than Ruiz and actually naturally bigger too. If Ruiz came in the ring as lean as Cunningham, no way he's 210lbs, he'd be in the 180's tops.

The Ruiz loss still shocks me to this day. Ruiz wasn't even a puncher at HW. And the physical advantages AJ had were cartoonish. The Dubious loss makes sense, he's big and a puncher, AJ is old now. Usyk is a master boxer ATG. But the Ruiz loss is unbelievable.

AJ's three best wins were all around 40 years old and over the hill. There's little chance he beats Wlad or Povetkin when they were prime, and a good chance young Pulev outpoints him.

AJ is very much like Wilder, dangerous punch and speed but very flawed. He's the kind of fighter who can beat good fighters but then lose to B fighters.

But ATG boxing isn't everything. He's a great guy, role model, dad, bidness man, social media star, ambassador for human rights and nigerianism. And future mayor of London.

I saw someone here claim Charles Martin was a "reigning champion" the other week.

He was clearly a top 5 level HW for several years.

surely no one other than a part time casual would think that considering all boxing fans knew wlad was coming out of retirement and a loss for that fight? Everyone knows the fury win over wlad was the proper victory and I cant stand fury.

The Parker fight was of the result of a disgusting refereeing performance nothing positve to be claimed from that.

AJ has never been more than a pampered manufactured “champion” used to extort money from gullible fans

    there has only been 3 “the champions” in recent times;

    wlad
Fury (man who beat the man)
    Usyk undisputed

the rest are just a hard no

It's very difficult to collect 1 belt let alone 3. He was definitely elite for a time. Now the people that were saying he was an ATG and arguing against those of us saying he was nowhere near that, that's a different matter altogether

Arum said Wallin would beat AJ, so yeah, that's that. He's a hater.

AJ was as close as he could be to an elite level. He was the best heavyweight on the planet from April 2017 to June 2019, holding 3 out of 4 alphabet belts, and beating number 3 rated Joseph Parker in March 2018, which sometimes was enough to re-establish the lineage. Has a lot of solid wins in his resume, more Top 10s beaten than Wilder & Fury combined.

Top 3 of this era. To be determined if number 2 or 3.
