A guy who started out at welterweight cannot finish fighting at cruiserweight. That is a 53lb gain. There should be a division between LHW and Cruiserweight.
Just because cleverly moved up and werent good enough too beat a bum like bellew? There has been plenty of light heavyweights that didnt mind going up to cruiserweight and did well. Chris eubank a 160lber a smaller man than cleverly, went up at the tail end of his career, put in a better showing against carl thompson a much better fighter than tony bellew.
dunno but im almost certain Cleverly went into that fight with an injury but there was no way he could pull out, and by not mentioning the injury makes Bellews vicotry look better and everyone can say the arguments have been settled. I was told recently that Froch ( and I aint just saying this.... because I wanted Groves to win both fights ) had been suffering flu and an injury going into Groves I and was advised by doctors to pull out, but he couldnt because of the fact it was a Sky PPV show
No. He just had **** trainer in Wilson who couldnt get Clev to execute a gameplan. Plus his diet of mash potato and gravy (from fish and chip shop) and spag bol probably didnt help either.
On hindsite,Fast Car may have preferred this scenario after checking out the financials of this disaster. A bad night for everyone involved.
