Was Cornelius Carr ever knocked down?

He was still standing when he was stopped vs Francis and he wasn't down vs Collins either.

 

Eubank is the only guy to have him over. Roy Jones didn’t drop him.

Sparring partner in multiple camps for both. In fact they were fighting for his services at one point (I think for their March 95 fights).

 

This must be the only occasion that Eubank would fight a decent American

 

Carr is British.

 

I remember he gave Rod Douglas a good ole fight in the ABA final when very young (maybe just turned 18?).

Eubank fought a half dozen decent Americans. The likes of Roy Jones though were the peak Mayweathers/prime Tysons of their time.

Dan Schommer had great am results (ie Virgil Hill).
Ron Essett & Randy Smith were decent slippery journeymen.
And Mark Breland & Dennis Milton were legendary NY ams (when Eubank was raw).

 

Coincidently Milton was WBO number one contender at the time Eubank vacated the title to face Watson again, though he wasn’t mandated yet. He chose the WBC route and Gerald McClellan came in (and boy was he impressive v Mugabi).

Eubank signed to fight his mandatory, unbeaten Tim Littles, to his credit, but Littles pulled out inj and Thornton was then mandated.

He also signed to face Michael Nunn had he beat Benn again.
