Doesn't matter. Lawrence Cole was the referee. All those people ringside screaming "DQ!" before Dirrell even keeled over would have been enough to insure a disqualification no matter what. Dirrell could have started doing jumping jacks and it wouldn't have changed anything. Who are these people whining he faked it? Not the same people that cried rivers about what happened to Kessler in Oakland... ... Nooooo.... :rofl Do yourselves a favor. Argue about something that would have changed the outcome.

I think Dirrell fought well - but some of the morons on here make we wanna say this...

Now you say it was a cheap shot... If it was the other way around these same people would be screaming "protect yourself at all times!!!"

Just some pathetic. When Kessler got headbuttet over and over and Ward easily could have been DQed... these same people said... "yeah.. ok... but protect yourself at all times".

Well, that goes double here... Dirrell thinks that he can just throw himself on the ground and nothing happens - not even a deduction.. now that is ridiculous.

This thread is a bigger miss than most of AA's left hooks tonight.

It's funny...I think it was a case of both. Arthur hit hard and late enough to justify the DQ, but Dirrell still milked it- at least he did initially.

The thing is, I think the punch did still did real damage beyond the initial acting part. Dirrell's own camp thought at least part of the reaction was an act by the way they were slapping him in the head and shaking him around immediately afterward. It seemed to me, though, Dirrell really thought he lost the fight and that should've been his team's first clue something genuinely wasn't right.

Hope he's alright. Andre did well for himself tonight, and I tip my cap to him on that. Just an unfortunate ending all around.

oh yeah....i forgot about this one...

(being that there are about 10 post about it....i wrote what i thought and i am going to copy and paste it on each to say my piece)

no way..you can watch that again and see it was a clear slip...in the same corner he slipped before.

I feel bad for both fighters...it was a ****ed up ugly mess and occurance.

I think it should just be nullified... no points for anyone and no dq on aa's record
Abraham didnt know he slipped.. abraham thought he was doing what he does..."duckin and jiving" when he is in the corner or against the ropes... he threw on instinct..much like roy jones did agains montey barrett... he was just in the mix and threw.

I can understand Dirrell being as upset as he was. hometown and all.
He did demonstrate the blueprint...and was winning no matter what any AA fan says.
Abraham should have said something to the effect of "i didnt know he slipped" not...he's an actor. or anything else... he talked **** about a guy that was clearly beating him.

Dirrell was not acting... he was zoned out like roy been in the past.... when you catch an uppercut on your feet at least you can absorb the shock and roll with it.... when you are low doing a goddamn split practically on a knee (and not from a punch) and you take an uppercut ...you can't even react accordingly....he got a bomb dropped on him in the worst way.

We know AA's power... he didnt perform well tonight. and he was lucky to not catch his first loss tonight that he was going to recieve.

A fine performance by Andre Dirrell...(hold your head bro)
and an unfortunate reaction by Arthur Abraham.

The only people who voted for the first option (acting) are those who were against Dirrell in the first place, regardless of what happened. Pathetic. Sour grapes perhaps?

The ****ing video shows everything. Dirrell collapsed unconcious a fraction of a second after the blow connected. Yeah, he took that giant window of a time period pondering if he could pull off a fake DQ victory.

Getting caught is one thing, getting caught with a full-force power shot by a heavy puncher is another mate.

Abraham acted stupid and he got what he deserved. Too bad for him, because it looked that he was coming strong in the later rounds. Very idiotic behaviour from his part, probably out of frustration.
