I don't hold how Gerry was against Norton in the ring against him .If Kenny could have done the same against Gerry he woujf would have ,its the nature of the game .Doesn't stop him being a decent guy outside the ring. Some of the most vicious fighter s were decent enough when not fighting. Marciano ,Frazier ,Benn,Cooper etc .They all came across as someone who wasn't a serial killer in day to day life .

What a crock of ****. Once again Cooney not responsible for his life. Just a mistreated slave to Rap and Jones who btw without Gerry would be no millionaire and working at Burger Chef.

I'm Gerry Cooney.. Perpetual victim. Wake up bitches.

He's seems like a great guy. Speaks well and has all his faculties intact too. It was sad to see him and Shavers appear to be in better health than the 90's guys like Bowe and Holyfield when they all got together recently for the Fury vs Wilder fight.

Gentleman Gerry was indeed a nice guy. Try to find and watch his 1st round KO of Ron Lyle. Ron was 39 at the time I think, but he was a late starter, and so only a few years past his best. Gerry knocked him through the ropes with a body shot. A number of years later, Ron made a comeback with a handful of stoppage wins in the vain hope of a re-match with George. I remember reading a statement from Ken Norton after his KO at the hands of Gerry, saying " I heard he hits hard, but I didn't think he hit THAT hard".
