Inactive was the wrong word, fair enough, my bad.

Okay, look, forget Cotto, Urango, Torres, Tszyu, Mayweather.

You tell me why this guy, a long time rival, fellow Brit did not receive a world title unification fight when he held the WBC:

So you hold it against Cotto for not fighting Hatton? Or are you just going to apply that rule as and when it suits your opinion of a fighters?

Answer my question first. Why do you blame Hatton for not fighting Cotto but not Cotto for not fighting Hatton?? When you have no prove either side is to blame?

That link doesn't work at the moment. I take it its Witter? Use the search function on the forum if you want the answers to that issue. Its been done to death and doesn't really impact the Cotto-Hatton situation which you've turned into an excercise in having a go at Hattons record rather than talking about the fight.

Got to go to work unfortuneatly. Keep up the character assassination!!!

Gaz, you've got a point there - Cotto generally never called anyone out. His answer was always "I let my team make the fights." He was asked if he'd fight happen and he said he would, but he'd need to talk through the options with his team.

Hatton only became an international name when he beat Tyszu. Cotto was on a different path at that point. The only thing is Hatton made his usual Hatton comments that he'd do a number of Cotto because he wouldn't like being bullied.

Hatton has fought 2 of the best lb for lb fighters in the sport, fought other pfp fighters, fighters considered the best int he division, beat the no1 at the time in the division in Tszyu, become a 2 weight world champ and you give him **** about not giving witter a payday

Could you give me in full all these times Cotto has gassed :happy I even remember Kellerman saying during thr Cheato fight its not like Cotto gasses. From the top, Idont count the fight where a bloke has got bricks in his gloves either

Thats the thing mate, theres a multitude of reasons why some fights don't happen, IMHO this one was primarily timing with Cotto moving to 147 before the fight had really built up a head of steam. Nobodies fault.

When fights don't happen some people just seem to need a "hero" in one corner and a "coward" in the other to keep it nice a simple for themselves and usually pick those roles based purely on which fighter they like best.

Cotto gasses and i don't think it's up for debate. It's one of the first flaws you notice if you've been watching Miguel's career.

The fights i've seen him gass in are Clottey, Ndou, Margarito, Mosley, Pacquiao. It depends on the opponent and what he brings to the table in terms of taking him to that place. You see, it's not about his output it's about what happens after a certain point when he puts that work in, and how fast he's forced to fight, the mental pressure he's under and if you can off set his rhythm.

Margarito may have had plaster in his gloves (i believe he did as well) but also believe that the style of Margarito is bad for Cotto. The Margarito who fought Pacquiao would still make Cotto gass IMO. I want you to watch Cotto's fights and when you see him bounce and go backwards late on, tell me what you think.

Lets not forget he was outclassed and knocked out in both fights as he was hopelessly out of his depth and had no business being in the ring with either of them.

Prime Hatton getting a little underrated these days

It would not have surprised anyone had he fought and beat Cotto around 2005/2006 at 140.
