Was Joyce's Chin Overrated Or Is Zhang Just That Powerful ?

It comes down to seeing the punches. The punches you don't see are the ones that get you.

 

Zhang cracked that chin last fight and finished the job tonight. I hope Joe retires.

 

Bit of both. Plus Joyces chin has probably declined with age and all the punishment hes absorbed and its now been cracked.

 

That punch leaves Fury unconscious for minutes.

 

Well, get that man some fights. I can list double digit heavies that need an opportunity/exposure/experience. Thing is no network would broadcast them, at least not here in the United States.

 

His record is garbage either way.

 

How many judges had Joyce winning? Had to be one minimum.

 

Age doesn't matter in that case, and he certainty improved since Hrgovic and especially aince Forrest fight.

 

He almost made the count, despite appearing very far away for the first three of it

His chin is above average imo, it's just that he has been using it as first line of defense and to compensate for his lack of head movement and finally got done clean

 

Going to be interesting next time he is taken past 6 rounds how his engine holds up. Certainly he looked to have improved his pacing in Joyce 1, but Joyce's style also allowed that.

 

As i said the guy started looking after himself. He said it himself. He started a diet(which he didn't do before), he gets in physical shape. He hired SnC coach, massagist, therapist, and is taking his training very seriously after that fight with Jerry Forrest.

And again being 40 is not bad for him, as you can see what speed he posses. His speed is definitely improved, and he said it by himself as well.
This is the best Zhang and to be fair a rematch against Hrgovic will be dogfight again.
Hrgovic is a lot younger though and have a granite chin.
Last fight was extremely close, and i scored it for Zhang by a round or so if i remember correctly.

Guy is a monster, and he will be avoided like pleague.

 

He had (had?) a very good chin, but Sheldon is a monster puncher and caught him flush with a perfectly timed and thrown shot. I can't see anyone in the division taking a shot like that and not going down. Fury would have dropped and stayed on the canvas.

 

Why would Hrgovic risk his shot against Usyk?

He won't. He ain't stupid, and won't make Joyce mistake.
But Zhang would also be stupid to risk his mandatory, as he is mandatory now.
I'm just saying that i scored the fight between Hrgovic and Zhang for Zhang by round or so, and that rematch will be dogfight.
To be fair in my book that rematch doesn't need to happen, as it's not suit anyone, and both gets out of the fight looking great.

Both are monsters, even though people underestimate both of them.
