Many things contribute to a KO. The question is whether it was a one punch KO or not.

Again, Rocky comes under special scrutiny here. Most won't have a problem with Marquez-Pacman being a one punch KO. And that was after Manny was already down.

Here, you have Walcott who wasn't knocked down. He was not getting beat up a-la Hearns Duran. In fact he was alert, mobile, and was still able to avoid Rockys punches and maintain his distance. And yet people are still finding reasons to not call it a one punch KO.

No I said worn down or hurt, this is not my scale but it's a scale that others on here are trying to use to lessen the wow factor of that amazing punch.

He was in a much worse state, vulnerable and open to being knocked out more than Walcott could dream ever dream of being in.

I think you're getting confused, Marciano tore those scripts up and did it like a true ATG does.......

    So it's not a scale you're using?

In that case why bring a scale up at all?

I see it more as a binary system, it's a 1 punch finish or it isn't. These two are.

You brought up grading not me? I'm using the same logic as others are on here. If they deny Marciano's was a one punch knockout then going by their logic the Hearns knockout was even less so.

So ignore the commentary which states that Joe is tired, ignore the visible huffing and puffing from Walcott and ignore the bombs that Marciano landed to the head and body for the previous 12 rounds?

    Cool story, brah.

You're making small points seem more consequential than they are when assessing if a KO was the result of one punch.

Can you share some examples of one punch KOs that survive this rediculous level of scrutiny?

Do you consider Marquez Pacquiao 4 a one punch KO? Hearns Duran?

You said Rocky was more of a one punch than Hearns.

I said they both ended the fight with one punch.

    So to sum up

    1) neither of us believe in grading 1 punch knock outs.

    2) we both believe both are 1 punch knock outs.

Why are we even debating something we both agree with?

We do agree but I'm playing along like a silly twat when I know full well they were both one punch knockouts, the others on here who like to argue otherwise know fully well that they were but just like to be awkward for the sake of it.

So, I guess Mancini's KO of Kim was a one punch KO, too?

Cool. Thanks for gettin me woke.
