Yet the numbers proved it wasn't as horrible as many thought it would be.

True but with Mayweather's style he has to chose the bigger names to do big numbers. Margarito wasnt an house hold name then and now is. :thumbsup

Baldomir wasn't a big name, Judah wasn't a bigger name than Mayweather and Gatti was slightly bigger but then again if he fought anyone less popular than Mayweather or similar popularity would he have made the same amount?, I don't think so.

It's the DLH fight that made insane numbers and for good reason, Mayweather didn't really select insanely huge names before that because boxing lacks them anyway, if it wasn't for Mayweather being in there with Gatti/Judah and Baldomir you think the numbers would have been as they were?, I don't think so. The DLH fight gave him huge exposure then the Hatton fight proved how big he really became after it considering the Margarito fans here thought it would make 400k at best.

Mayweather talks **** to promote his fights and it works. He does a good job at it too. I give him credit for being entertaining outside the ring.

To each his own I guess, casuals usually pick one style and enjoy it without being able to enjoy other styles nor bother to understand them. No shame there, just a matter of style.
