Yeah exactly something like that. Neither guy fought well and who really cares who was behind ? Mosley ended all that with a scary KO. You gotta love that about Shane he always goes for it in the final round.

Shane did look terrible in that fight......his legs seemed like they were shot and that was'nt much manueverability to them.

.....still he had alot left to score the KO at the end....which tells me Mosley was in great shape but will have trouble against any good fighter that gives him different looks and just does'nt march ahead in a straight line.

Mayorga who is far from a great boxer, gave Mosley feints, different looks and came in at slightly different angles......keeping Mosley off balance and looking very much less than ordinary.

Margarito just marched straight at Mosley and its the one style that will make Mosley shine.

Mosley imo will be in deep **** against any fighter that has more than one dimension to his game.....Mayweather, JMM, Pacquiao, Williams, and even Cotto who I believe Mosley beat when they fought....will all beat Mosley handily when they meat.

Mosely no longer has the ability to chase and cut the ring.
Any top fighter that faces Mosley next will hit the lottery.

Having said that, Mosley was ahead clearly on my scorecard against the inept Mayorga who against Trinidad and DLH were made to look like SRR.

I had it even after 10. Mosley won the 11th and was winning the 12th, so no.

Yes he was on any reasonable scorecard. HBO commentary was easily manipulating people who had Mosely up. Mayorga would outwork Mosely for most of every round but when Mosely lands a jab HBO would wet their panties like a jab clearly wins the round for Shane. Im glad it ended the way it did otherwise it would have controversy for sure.

Honestly people act like it's this big deal that Mosley was behind, and point to this as proof that he's semi-shot. The fact is, he didn't fight his best, and Mayorga (though a bit long in the tooth, less ferocious and even slower than he once was himself) took advantage to pick up some rounds. It's not some great big knock, and there's no shame in it or dramatic conclusions that should be drawn from it. The Margarito fight was not a fluke. Mosley is still not only capable but about the most dangerous welterweight out there (on his best night) unless PW keeps draining himself. So he was behind on points to an inferior fighter. The point is, he pulled out the win. That's what matters. That's what the history books show. And if clips are ever shown on ESPN Classic, they're going to be clips from the 12th round.

I had him up, but was far from impressed with his perfomance that night. He even made think he was actually done :-(

People got all excited, **** their pants and gave rounds to Mayorga just for being competitive. That's it! Mosley was clearly winning the fight going into the last round. Anybody that had Shane behind going into the 12th can't score a fight for ****.

it was a tough fight but mosley was definately winning imo. you have to remember that the fight was at 154. mosley never looked that great at 154 except for beating a washed up vargas. mayorga is big, strong and akward so its understandable why he struggled with mayorga but he eventually broke him down.
