Was Nas not jailed for severely injuring a man in a head on smash which was totally avoidable? Apparently he just pulled out in to on coming traffic as he wanted to over take a queue, the other guy broke almost every bone in his body and is lucky to be alive. OK it's not on the same level as wife beating but lets not pretend Nas is a beacon of righteousness. Calzaghe described him as a bully and also equally money obsessed, he never shut up about how much cash he had to spank on cars and also rubbed it in other peoples faces.

He may have had charisma and could be entertaining but what happened to all that when he got his first L? Suddenly his huge confident persona was dwarfed and he came out looking like a bit of a tit really after all the hype.

so much wrong with this post i dont know where to start, what happened in his merc was sad but he has served his time, joe calzaghe?? i dont care what he has to say about naz, he mouths off at everyone cause he is a jealous ****er, i rarely heard naz go on about his money, he made serious money in his career and worked hard so let him have his day....rubbing in peoples faces was not something naz done...no way. It wasnt the loss that made naz walk away he had no love for the game anymore, he was sick of it, he made his money and didnt have the hunger nor desire if that goes then best thing to do is retire, the only reason most other boxers dont do the same is because they need the money where he didnt or are deluded in their own minds partly from brain damage another thing naz was able to avoid, the notion that naz was only beating second tier fighters then when he finally stepped up he lost then retired is absolute shite, he was a lot better than a lot of people on this forum give him credit for

 

Joe Calzaghe in his book says at a wbo convention I think it was,him Naz Carl Thompson and Ryan Rhodes? Went to us and Naz constantly talked about money and possessions. He belittled Thompson over and over about his purses for fights until Thompson snapped and threatened to do Naz over

Calzaghe wasn't actually slagging Nas off in a jealous way he was actually saying that he liked Nas and he was a character but that he was easy to dislike because of how he behaved. Referenced a story where Nas having a pop at Carl Thompson for how little he was earning and came out with replies like "That's not even a tenth of what I make for a fight I wouldn't even get out of bed for that" etc. Until Thompson snapped and put him in his place.

You can't castigate mayweather as a total **** for one crime then absolve Nas for his crime as he's "served his time" in the next breath without sounding like a hypocrite to me. Has Mayweather not served his time too?

Also, I never said he beat second tier fighters, simply that he never came back to avenge his defeat. He continually claimed to be the best and that no one could ever beat him, yet when Barrera did he never came back to avenge that. He was only 27, regardless of love for the sport or desire it does seem to be rather strange that his lack of hunger coincided with his first defeat. Ultimately it's a matter of opinion but you can't honestly come out with statements like "he never rubbed it in peoples faces" because you weren't there to see that. He fell out with the Ingles because they said when they called him to ask why he wasn't in training he would say "I'm Ferrari shopping with my boys" then put the phone down. That's the exact same kind of **** that Mayweather would come out with only one gets excused for it the other doesn't.

This thread is straying totally from the point. Both a c***s. Infact I hear Naz was the biggest c*** on the planet. However its no question that Mayweather is the biggest star.

 

Yep, after the Mayweather fight I had various hardly even casual fans, including peoples birds and younger lads popping up on my Facebook to comment on what a schooling it was. I don't know how someone can be the highest grossing athlete in the world, yet people will still try and argue that no one knows who they are in Europe and that the Americans don't give a **** about them. If that was the case they wouldn't be making that sort of money as no one would care enough to watch/buy their fights.

 

sounds like that was back in the day, remember naz came to fame at a young age and aint we all dumb and young at one time or another, thompson would of eaten naz for dinner so i couldnt see naz trying to bully someone so much bigger and stronger that would be suicide, sounds like a funny story all the same

with regards to mayweather its not just one crime, the man is a **** 90% of the time. He is the one of the worst role models to ever be at the top of boxing, him and tyson were just terrible role models, i know naz wasnt the best either but naz was a lot younger when he was doing the **** you mentioned flauting wealth etc, he seemed to cool off later on his career which could be put down to maturity, mayweather is a lot older but actually acts a hell of a lot worse i dont need to even begin to mention the **** that idiot does half the time, if you compare the two naz is nowhere near the twat mayweather is

the falling out with the ingles was a lot more complex that the phone call that you mentioned, id say **** had been brewing long before that phone call happened

I couldnt name one person who even watched hightlights of Mayweather Guerrero . Now maybe its because I dont have many hardcore boxing fans as friends.

But many guys I know watched Haye, Khan and Hatton fight

 

Agreed, they both have distasteful personalities and come across as pampered, arrogant, self obsessed prima donna's. I don't like either of them, one is clearly a bigger star though and has achieved far more.
