Was Solis on his way to outpointing Vitali before his knee caved in?

I know it was only for under a round but his tactics looked PERFECT.

Movement and quick bursts of punches then back out.

Shame his knee went

 

His knee went because he ate a punch to the temple that scrambled his already limited senses. Deal with it buddy.

 

There is no way possible of knowing that based on how quick that fight went. I don't even know how you could suggest it.

 

Add the fact that he's top heavy, those skinny legs were never going to support him.

 

IMO Solis looked scared of Vitali and it was only a matter of time before he was knocked out...

 

Yeah that punch on his Glass Jaw had nothing to do with it. Solis is a Glass Jawed disgrace.

Too early to tell. He looked to have a game plan involving using movement and getting in and out which is a good approach against old man Klitscho, particularly as he's only been fighting plodders for a good fee years. But, at the end of the day he was too fat for his body to support him, and if you can't be bothered to get in peak shape for a fight of that magnitude then you've only got yourself to blame.

 

Enough to tell that we were robbed of an interesting fight. Really, that fight might've hurt Vitali's resume because if he had overcome a game challenge from Solis, he'd have a pretty impressive win on his resume.

 

What is Solis best win? Ray Austin? Monte Barrett? :huh

How exactly would that make it a 'good' win? I am a Vitali fan but Solis has fought nobody. Now, if Solis can win a belt or two later then yes it would be a good win but as of right now it isn't.

If a half assed hook to the temple from Vitali was enough to put his fat ass on the ground there's no way he could've lasted the distance, if anything, the sudden collapse of his glass knee saved him from a brutal and embarrassing KO later on

I don't blame Solis for the taking the opportunity for this fight, Solis was feasting on regional talent, and all his higher level assignments were either aging or very inexperienced at the world level. Hopping right in there with Vitali? Steep challenge.

 

Being the best heavyweight amateur to ever turn pro is something. I know, ams don't matter. That's why Rigo isn't ****, right?
