Takum never stood a chance! Not only had he have to fight a 6'6 juiced up mammoth when he himself stood at 6'1, but then he has to fight against the ref who was intent on treating him like a Paralympic victim , and the judges who had already made up their minds that he lost before the bell had even rang.
Got no problem with the fight taking place in England. But the referee should always be of a neutral nationality between both fighters. In this circumstance, the IBF should investigate the referee in this fight. And that deliberate headbutt, could have been ruled a DQ, or at least a point should have been deducted from Takam, he wouldn't have won the fight either way.
Yeah exactly, how could they know the score before the fight? This is a real bad day for boxing and some f'ing answers are required. What fights can we trust anymore short of a knockout?
Nice work on this TinFoilHat. I think there is a legal case for PPV buyers to be refunded with this evidence.
I think Showtime were testing their judges score card template overlay on the foreign stream. My second guess would be someone's prediction.
Hmmm, perhaps they recognised this ****-up and instead of letting the fight end at those exact scorecards they decided to do the early stoppage instead?!!?! Like if those scores showed up and than they were the same exact scores at the end than that would give them a shitstorm of criticism. Ending the fight early instead, saves them from that backlash and they can blame that hiccup on "An animation failure" or some **** and the ref's decision is final.
Mate, why would you help them by grabbing at any old obscure reason for a justification? Do you want corruption kicked out of boxing or not?
The score card wasn't shown in the UK, so it was at Showtimes end, had the fight gone to the score cards the audio would have announced the result before the text. I believe Showtime were testing their template overly so it was ready and could be filled in quickly, in the event the fight went the distance. That makes most sense to me.
The scorecard was filled in, look back at the screen shot. And to my knowledge, Showtime use SKY pictures, so this could well have been shown on SKY during an ad break. Scorecard tests are never done, you just add the scores to the program and it uploads it, its not something which would ever be tested mate. Let me ask you a straight question mate - As a previous poster noted, do you not think that this has got all the similarities of when the BBC reported World Trade Centre 7 had collapsed 30 minutes before it was actually brought down? Could not have Showtime exposed themselves like the BBC did that day? Would it not make more sense that the cards were in fact already filled out in event of the fight going to the scorecards? And as another poster noted - the only reason the fight was stopped early was because the ref was warned that Showtime had accidentally revealed the scores before the fight had even started and during the fight, he was ordered to cut the fight short to cover-up the corruption. It would be interesting to see betting patterns for a scorecard decision to Joshua.
WTF! The stoppage was awful but this happens all the time with British refs so I wasn't too surprised. But this however........
I saw it was filled in and I still think they were testing how their template would look over a foreign stream, ensuring everything was placed correctly and ready in the event the fight went the distance. Most things are tested in the background, for whatever reason this test was visible to the public. If a fix was in Sky/Matchroom wouldn't need to tell Showtime, the result would be announced and Showtime would display the result as text after the audio announcement. Why would Sky/Matchroom risk more people knowing about the "fix" by sending them the score card results in advanced? The more people who know of a "fix" the more likely it is to leak. Unless you think Sky, Matchroom, Showtime, the judges and possibly more are all in on fixing fights...
