    It was FRONT PAGE NEWS:smoke

I was at the fight & all thanks to having the right & proper connections in being able to obtain a ticket through DKP as no tickets were made available for the peasants to attend in case they lowered the tone of such an up market celeb & VIP social get together:yep:D

A seriously ****ed up night that was:yep

IMO, it changed Tysons perception forever.
No longer was he viewed as a great boxer, he was now viewed....as a pyscho, a ******.
THAT fight there, blurred the line between Tyson the great boxer and Tyson the personality

I remember Pachero (Or whatever his name is) saying he was starting to believe that Tyson was a confused individual.

Tyson from 97 to about 02, was a complete idiot. Part of it was hype to make himself the "Macho Pyscho" while trying to sweep under the carpet the fact that he had no fighting guts anymore and skills were long gone.

From 97 onwards, Tyson was all hype and name. He was like that after prison, but moreso after the Bite Fight.

I remember the night well; I was in Arizona at the time, and was on a date that evening. That's probably why I remember it, dates being somewhat notable things then. Anyhoo, the waitress at the Italian restaurant told us about it. Odd thing for her to open up the conversation with, really..........

"Good evening sir, good evening madam; can I interest you in our wine list? We have a few specials I thought you should know about, but first"..........

    Tyson-Holyfield : the rematch . You didn't watch it live ?? :blood

It was the biggest heavyweight match for years. The two most exciting HW champs since Ali and Frazier too.

I was seven at the time and everyone was ****ing pissed. All the parents were calling him a brute and all sorts of ****, I knew nothing about boxing at the time.

Honestly back then it really lowered my opinion of the sport, made it seem like wrestling or something trashy like that(yes, i knew that dumb charade was fake back then). Kinda reinforced my wishes to get into other martial arts over boxing, call it juvenile at the time but i wanted to take part in something with some kind of code, or honor. And stuff like the bite fight ruined all the image work guys like SRL and Hoya tried to do for the sport in a 'family friendly' sense. I don't know if i'm making sense right now

People were throwing bottles at Tyson when he was exiting the ring. There was outrage.

Tyson from 1990-2002 was a complete idiot. Hell Tyson from birth was a complete idiot. Hes somewhat calm now, but he comes accross as a little nutty.

Hell yes there was outrage. Sports Illustrated had a cover story on it, the picture showed Tyson biting Holyfield with the caption "Mad Man".

Very true. Too bad he ruined his mainstream image; too bad he in part took boxing's entire image along for the ride.

Just last weekend I was at the optometrist's waiting my turn with Heller's "In This Corner...!" The good doctor came up to me commenting on my "novel". I told him it was a book on boxing. To my dismay, he smirked and exclaimed, "Tyson! The ear biter!"

    Damn!

I don't think that we could actually believe it when we first saw/heard what happened.
