hearns no doubt had power but people talk about him as being a murderous puncher but i dont think this was the case.he gets heaps of praise for his ko of duran, but it was just a case of massive height reach and weight advantage over duran,if he was such a big puncher would he not have put leonard away with the numerous flush shots he hit him with

Duran took a serious beating that round ,and I mean a beating and his first time being KO.

That's a question you need to ask Duran.

You do realize that Hearns won the WBC 175 lb title by KO, right? The only reason that fight lasted so long was because Andries was as tough as they come. Also, was Shuler some kind of scrub? This guy was VERY highly regarded and Hearns ruined him with one right hand.

People think it was just one shot that put Duran away. He took several of those right hands before his face went down to the canvas.

Hearns was a master at using his feet to transfer his weight foward with that right hand.

His height, reach and weight transfer shooting that right hand, there was alot of snap at the end of that shot and the results were devestating to the opposition.
