i made some points, those arent delusions. i dont think it was good enough to be an average win. the prize was ridiculously big for the effort.
Yes, Usyk's age is a factor but I consider him toward the end of his prime more than past prime. Fury is a very good fighter and I feel some people are dismissing it because of Fury's past nonsensical claims to being the best ever that would beat all the best fighters from the past.
Honestly..I'll be the first to admit this post is slightly unfair...but i think he benefits massively from Fighting in a **** era ...dont get me wrong..fury is great and usyk is elite ...but I dont think they fair as well in the 90s heavyweight era...wilder and aj being in the top 5 for so long says alot about the state of heavyweight..still..least its better than the wlad and ibragimov era
I think Fury would of lost to Haye in 2013. Haye was a beast back then. The over hand that Usky was catching Fury with could of been Haye. He wouldn't stay up of Hayes and was a great finisher back then
Good fighter. He isn’t as good as we thought though. A big reason why he was favored over Usyk was his size advantage. If you are 6 inches taller with a 6 inch reach advantage and a 55 pound weight advantage and you lose, you were never great. That’s too many advantages for you to lose twice to a much smaller man. Good fighter. One of the best heavyweights of his era but not great.
Why? I don't think he is the best ever or even the best of this era but can't see why he wouldn't be talked about in the list of top HWs and ATGs He won British, Commonwealth and European HW titles Also He won WBA, WBC, WBO, IBF, Ring HW titles He also beat 2 reigning champions
Nah he was never any good, to be honest, the only reason last nights fight was any good is because he was allowed to have a beard and wear his trunks high…. If it wasn’t for those, Usyk would have KO’d him in the first 13 seconds. I’m surprised we haven’t seen more beard sporting, high trunk wearing champions, honestly, with the kind of advantages these things provide.
He was always better than Wilder and Joshua, and he has shown that. He was the best HW on the scene for long spells. In short, he was very, very good. While it's possible that the mythical prime version from Wilder II could break Usyk down and stop him, or the slim Klitschko version could outpoint Usyk, it didn't happen.
This is the risk that this generation have run by not fighting each other in their primes. There's an easy argument that the likes of Fury and AJ only ever fought journeymen or elite fighters well past their best. Neither will finish their careers in the top 10-15 heavyweights of all time.
You got me… What does a win over a “never any good” Tyson Fury do for Usyks legacy? It amazes me at the lack of logic (downplaying Usyks best opponents while calling him a top ATG), and clear lack of experience or true understanding of combat sports by so many on this forum. No one who’s felt a punch in their life would say stupid **** like a beard is going to help someone’s chin….
It makes Usyk "The Middleweight" the Heavyweight king of the modern era, which arguably puts him in the discussion for best ever, but only for the sake of argument, not definitively.
