Ali's speed is very overrated? No disrespect but I simply cannot agree with that comment!! Watch "60's" Ali mate, not late 70's Ali!!
Ali, even in his prime, had problems with good left hookers. Tyson loved to double up on the hook, first to the body then to the head. Don't know that Tyson would be able to beat Ali - BUT - he sure as hell gives him all kinds of problems...
You're really having fun with this aren't you? Bored or drunk? I'm guessing it's one or the other...or both.
Seen that clip many times. We should remember, Tyson is was only about 16 at the time of this & evne then you can see the speed & power! If anything, Tyson's handspeed was UNDERRATED as most of the time he was knocking guys out & people generally talked about his power! His speed was devestating & most of the time, his opponents did not expect him to be so fast! No other HW in history had the unique combination of speed & power to the high extent Tyson possessed it! You can't teach that or practice so much that you have it. You either have it or you don't! Even at 16 watching Tyson shadow box, you can tell he is an advanced fighter for his age!
Going with that incredible hand speed is the foot work. Look how he seamlessly pivots to adjust his combos. Not only that is a complex skill to master, he does it effortlessly with no wasted movement. Incredible. What could have been....
hell no. underated would be his his footwork even past 95 he did use some great technique. [yt]tSGd4Z-Y-Cw[/yt]
The thread starter is a born ******. Someone needs to bust out that response Dan Raphael gave this noob for asking this assinine question a thousand times. He's basically asking for the sake of asking and never provides any arguments to support his dumb reasoning. He does this on many boxing forums.
