I don't see how it would be bad for boxing. former former football player/navy vet I think he was I may be wrong. winning a world title is a cool story to be honest. ruin a Joshua vs wilder big payday? maybe yea but not ruin boxing.
Actually, the opposite is true. Washington winning would end this disgusting con-game that Wilder and his management are playing on the boxing public -- holding the belt hostage, while their overrated, glass-jawed mediocrity fights nobody after nobody. Washington exposing this fraud and shattering Wilder's glass jaw would be the best thing that could happen to HW boxing today! Hope it does!
If Wilder wins we all know what to expect. Another load of empty promises followed by a last minute opponent pulled from the ranks of WBC oblivion after Wilder claims that all the big names refused to fight him, rinse and repeat. No thanks.
el gallo negro he will be the first mexican champ hes also a haymon fighter i would not be surprised if he wins ha
After party will carry on in to the wee hours of the morning, So yeah. Not so good if Wilder loses because I may have to call in to work Monday lol
Any big athletic guy with skill is a danger in the sport.wilder is not the best, hes the more awkward champion. Wilder himself dragged his own career and made little progress in skills and he admits hes fine with that...why bother like a refined fighter when you can get by as is according to him in short. lol
I can't believe what I am now reading on this forum. Are you seriously considering the possibility that Washington could win this? *shakes head in disbelief*. Really? Is this a forum for knowledgeable boxing fans anymore?
Why not? It's two big guys punching each other. Why is it ludicrous to entertain the thought of the underdog winning? Upsets happen.
Well it is not just two big guys punching each other, it is an inexperienced fighter that has only took up the sport relatively recently against a career boxer. If he manages to land a clean shot on Wilder at all it would be surprising enough, let alone a shot delivered well enough that it knocks him out. And lets be honest, the only real chance he has is going to be to KO Wilder, because if it's on points it won't be a contest.
Idk about that. Washington seems like a hardworking, nice guy and has shown willingness to face anyone so far. Not that I think he has a great chance or anything.
Well should Washington win, I'd expect him to be willing to cash out straight away into the biggest money fight out there and I would also expect the elite names and beltholders in the division to jump at the opportunity to fight him.
