I have been really disappointed with Pac starting from December 2009 onward. Ive made quite a few post swatting down all these *******s. But anyone who thinks Clottey is a weak opponent for Pac is ****ing nuts. Clottey is a much tougher fight for Pac stylewise than anyone else he has faced at 140+. That defense, solid chin and hand speed is what will make it a very tough fight. Pac stopped Hatton, DLH and Cotto but realize that very few people are picking a Pac KO for this fight and for good reason. After the PBF fell through and as Mosley is busy, Clottey is the toughest opponent for Pac out there at 147. He is a better opponent that Yori Foreman at 154. What has me worried as a Clottey fan, is his low activity with Pac's combinations will probably have him dropping rounds. I am also worried about his stamina in the late rounds with him taking this fight on only 8 weeks notice. Finally all of Pac's lawyers and bull**** can be a problem. It better take place at 147, especially since Clottey is a big guy taking the fight on short notice. Clottey flew in a few days ago from Africa to sign the contract and I havent read that its been signed yet which has me worried.
Clottey outlanded Cotto in the final punch stats in their fight. Not only that he landed the better punches as well. People made a big deal about Cotto running and boxing the late rounds and Clottey didnt catch him but WTF did Cotto land those rounds? He didnt land **** either so I gave most of them to Clottey based on activity.
Either Clottey's perception of how a fight is going is always off or he is weight drained at 147. His work rate is too low. . . . I've a feeling it's both. Pac wins a UD for me although it wouldn't be a foregone conclusion if Clottey could some how manage to up his work rate. He has the defense and patient attitude to give Pac problems if he could keep busy for 12 rounds. Pacquiao struggled when Cotto stayed solid and got behind his jab but as soon as he lost his discipline it was easy pickings. I can't see Clottey making the same mistake but he could be overwhelmed by Pac's output and movement. No complaints with Pac taking this fight.
Clotteys style is right for Pac...His activity rate...He waits to get off to counter and he is slower than Pac... What does that mean...? Well Pac will be in and out...the only problem may be the reach but the diff in speed nearly negates that advantage. Pac also doesnt tire...no it shouldnt be a walk in the park but Pac should have his way...
clottey doesnt stand in the pocket while his opponent attacks clottey can defend while going back wards clottey works a good jab clottey will be able to walk manny down behind his guard (nobody else has been able to do that because nobody else pacman has fought was defensively dedicated) I expect clottey to lose a fight that he could have arguably won
