That isn't even that fast. It's because the camera doesn't have a stabilizer that makes it seem like it's a fast pace. Look at the guy keeping pace with them in the park, he's walking at 6:00!

He's clearly using the Maffetone formula. Running should be utilized to build an aerobic base for a boxer. If you run at too fast a pace, you risk overtraining by utilizing your glycolytic energy tank.

While Floyd is running his hardest, Manny is taking it easy.

Unless Floyd is on PEDs or Ariza has been monitoring his training, he'll likely come in overtrained.

5 miles in 40 minutes? Slow . I think FMJ was doing low 6s and even that is slow for a world class athlete.

Sports science has come a long way.

Some of the greatest athletes in the world don't train at full speed anymore.

When you train at full speed your body tends to derive its energy from sugars instead of fats.

It also leads to overtraining. Pacquaio's focus shouldn't be running. I believe they cut running out of the program early on.

That's because the only point of running was to build up an initial aerobic base.

He's past that level. He should peak on fight time or at worst be slightly undertrained. It's far better to be slightly undertrained than overtrained.

You absolute moron. All energy systems are used simultaneously in different proportions. The glycolytic energy system is the predominant energy system used in boxing. By not using an energy system as much as you should you don't develop it, and that's going to increase your risk of being 'overtrained' (as if you know the first ****ing thing about that).

5 miles in 40 minutes is VERY slow, I don't run at all and I could run it faster than that if I went for a run right now.
It would just be for keeping weight down and perhaps as a recovery run.

Look man, I hate to break it to you, but the internet made you obsolete.

Nobody needs a personal trainer if they have the discipline to seek out proper sources of information.

It's widely known that some of the best endurance athletes in the world are trained by guys who use Maffetone's protocol.

So, why don't you tell me how I'm wrong. Clearly, you have NO CLUE what you're talking about if you even attempt to prove me wrong.

    Who have you trained???

When Lance Armstrong was winning 7 Tour De' France's in a row, you best believe he was using Maffetone's protocol initially as he was building up his aerobic base.

    What are your accomplishments???

    Wow, dude.

You must be using textbooks from 1989. You know, almost every legitimate field evolves, but clearly you haven't been keeping up with the most current protocol.

There are some protocol's out there that involve solely training the alactic and aerobic tanks, and only using the glycolytic tank during competition.

This prevents the athletes from overtraining.

It's pathetic because sport science and nutrition is merely an insignificant hobby for me, but it's your life and either out of arrogance or ignorance, you're not telling the truth.

I mean, a critical thinker or a person who really knows what they're talking about would use evidence to prove me wrong.

    Who are you though???

    Are you published???

See, you don't even know what you're talking about. If you run at too fast a pace you switch from aerobic to anaerobic and you start burning sugar when you should be burning more fat or becoming more proficient at burning fat.

Speak some ****in logic for once.

You're supposed to be the sports science expert, but you're increasingly proving that you don't know ****.
