I didn't get 11,150 posts just talking about Duran. If it is a thread about Duran, certainly if I posted there it might be about him. You can see my comments by going to my profile and looking up statistics and then comments. That will show you my comments on other subjects, as well as Duran obviously. I think statistics is the option which gets a person to the posts he/she might make.
I actually believe Oswald shot President Kennedy as a single gunman. And I did not say prime vs. Hearns in 1981, I said closest to prime he ever was, since his prime would have been more about 1983 or 1984 if he were active, and I doubt he was prime vs. Kevin Howard.
Sorry, didn't see the sarcasm. There are actually people who read your post and thought to themselves "Yep, makes a solid point there. :think".
check it out on profile. If there is a thread about Duran which mentions excuses and that Duran was washed up when he fought Ray at 29 years old in 1980, then I will more than likely respond. But I rarely made a thread about Duran. I made about 100 threads or subject threads, and I think only a couple are about Duran.
:yep ...and don't forget the rematch which was agreed a few weeks later every time this debate comes up . The reality is Carlos Eleta announced that a November rematch had been agreed in mid-August, only the venue and purses hadn't been agreed by that time (originally mooted was the Caesar's Palace venue that hosted the Ali-Holmes fight).
We can spoil their fun by announcing he was only ripping off Elisha Obed in the Eckhard Dagge fight. The Bahamian was the true innovator here. I preferred Duran's Pat Lawlor quit job anyway, "it's my shoulder, no my ribs, no my tricep...look somewhere around there is hurting so badly i can't go on, I just don't know where it is....yet. I'll tell you all later".
I recall, like most of us,getting excited about Leonard-Duran 2,as the first fight was such a thriller. What a bloody letdown,eh ? I remember one of the American boxing writers saying something like "There were two golden rules when I was a kid. John Wayne never fell off his horse, and Roberto Duran never quit" !!
Of course, everyone would have been excited about the rematch, the first fight was such a good contest and, surprisingly, a few writers at ringside had Leonard ahead. However, some clown mentioned earlier that Leonard 'refused' Duran a rematch after this . The reality is, in the early 1980s a third contest raised about as much excitement as the thought of a John L.Gardner-Paul Sykes rematch for the British heavyweight crown.
