I just ignore all the belts now because they don't prove anything. The Ring rankings are the only organisation left in boxing with integrity.

That being said the WBA is particularly bad.

They are not corrupt but it does not mean their rankings are perfect. It's essentially a US magazine and they are good to evaluate boxers who are hyped in the US or fight on US channels (Showtime etc.) Boxing as everything else is now a globalized thing. Ring magazine cannot replace the ABC organizations (+ they don't want to replace the ABC organizations !). I hope the AIBA project will be a succes...

WBA may have 4 so-called "World" champs in 1 division simultaneously:

    1. Super champion
    2. Ordinary champion
    3. Champion in recess
    4. Interim champion

Isn't it a big joke? :huh

In fact, 2 yrs ago there were 3 WBA cruiserweight champs at the same time:
Mormeck (super title), Hill and Brudov (interim title).

I stopped paying attention to sanctioning bodies when they rated a dead man (rather highly, considering)

That was just after I started posting here, years ago.

The funny/disturbing thing is - the dead fighter actually moved up in the rankings after he died.
I really would love to hear them explain that one.

As much of a mess as the WBA organization is - unfortunately it has the oldest lineage of the current boxing organizations. How they keep moving John Ruiz back into title contention is beyond me.

I heard the dead guy is officially champion emeritus.

Very true, there is a bias towards American fighters however I feel it's the closest thing we have.

The WBA should dry up and blow away
